It doesnt "look like" copy- paste, it IS copy- paste.
http://clanbase.ggl.com/rules.php?lid=12429

They didn't even bother removing the "***" mark from some settings, which is there, because:
http://roladder.net/pages/3-territory-eu
"Settings marked with *** aren't working at the moment (status 2011/10/1)."

How lame is this ?
How do you expect people to start gaming with you, when you can't even properly steal someone else's work, and apparently have no clue about what features are now available for clan gaming in RO2 ?

why would anyone need permisson to "copy" rules of a game?

if one league is using some sort of rules, no one else can use them?

I guess people enjoy the nitpicking...

We should be happy that there is more clan support for RO2... but I agree that they could have done a tiny bit of effort to look into it... but hey, it might just be a first draft and they will modify some things are they go along...

I don't think it is a bad idea if people playing on different sites uses the same rules. Makes the pcw-scene bigger. Most things are very obvious choices too, it's not that many things you can and should change.

In fact, I remember ROL admins saying that the problem for ROOST at CB was that CB didn't look at how ROL with all its experience was handling things.

So no need for hatin', just lovin' =).

Well, it took us several hours of work to figure out what settings are working and what they're for. After that we had to discuss what options would be the best for competitive play. Anyway, it's not like someone is saying they shouldnt use the same rules, the point is they just copied something we worked out without even asking if they could use this list.

In fact, I remember ROL admins saying that the problem for ROOST at CB was that CB didn't look at how ROL with all its experience was handling things.

It wasn't so much that they didn't look at ROL but they copied the rules from a cod 1v1, 3v3 and 5v5 setting which didn't work well in ostfront.

I'd rather see them copy our rules than copy them from cod, but giving credit would be nice. For both ROL and CB rules will probably change after a while. For instance spawning on a squadleader seems to show to be far from ideal for competitive play sadly the server setting disabling it doesn't work all the time so it's better keeping it on.

A competitive website with working rules is best for all competitive teams and players, as it means the community an sich can grow. Competitive communities failing hurts everybody more.

Whaaat. Whether or not two different gaming organizations use similar or even the same set of rules is besides the point. Plagiarism is bad in and of itself, but then to be so blatantly lazy that you present a carbon copy of somebody elses work and then parade it around.. I mean, wow. Are you people that oblivious or are you purposefully trying to spit on the ROL peeps? You can't even contact them first and ask them if you can use their stuff on conditions that you'll rework it before you post it to the public? I don't think the guys at ROL would have had a problem with that at all.

..and to you forum members here who like to sit back and snipe at what people have to say because you find it 'negative' (I'm looking at you Das Bose), STFU and let the moderators do their work. If they find it inappropriate they'll do something about it.. otherwise, knock it off; it makes you look like sh!t.

Lol what? I said it's a good thing that RO2 is in Clanbase, way before anybody noticed an issue with the rules. What is your problem?

Also the comment about people finding the negative in anything good is exactly what has been happening here since release. Nothing but moaning and more moaning, just like your post.

i fail to see your logic..

lets take real life for example, football is being played all around the world. do you think someone is asking for permission to use the game's rules every time a new league formes in a certain country? lighten up..

I've got one day for making rules from ZERO so the part of server setting ive just cope/past from roladder as i dont have time for doing in myself but i will do it. So sorry for that.

We also want make universal anticheat for ro 2 how we use it in many other games. One more anticheat = less cheaters.

Using others work without asking is really disgraceful.

oh man, facepalm.

Of course a sport can have the same rules. It's about copying a text about rules. And not using it as a base or to get some impressions, no, a carbon copy.
