Finally here's the poll!

Would you like the ability of being able to choose which one of your upgrades you want on your weapon after you've unlocked them ?

Or are you fine with the current system of forced upgrades ?

Also please feel free to rate this thread. The more exposure it gets, the more likely it is that TWI are going to notice it.

With the hawkeye vision that everyone has the scopes just get in my way. Having the option would be great and could definitely enhance matches and scrims since it would allow everyone to be on an even playing field. As it is now, the only way that even playing field can be achieved is for everyone to max out all weapons.

Everyone takes scopes and mkb40 as 1st unlock, have fun playing Red Orchestra Campers of Stalingrad.

you did not understand this poll: its not about choosing your unlocks, but about to USE OR NOT TO USE the unlocks you got.

because sometimes the unlocks are not the better choice over the standard.

You really need to read the first post properly.

All this is about is being able to choose wether you want that last upgrade you unlocked on your weapon or not. It's not about being able to choose which upgrade you want to unlock first.

The option to choose if you want to use a unlock at a given time, should have been in there from the start.

It puzzles me how this could get the approval of the team.
Really, it is truly a ridiculous design choice and made me laugh, shake my head in disbelieve and let me be embarrassed for the team.

Oops, sorry. In that case yes, it would be very nice. Veteran solders should be able to customize their weapon to their needs.

Now I know [TW]Ramm-Jeager has posted this some time ago:

[TW]Ramm-Jeager said:
Actually I can deny this One of the worse mistakes you can make as a designer (and I am assuming you're a designer if your hanging out in the level design forums) is to assume that "everyone" feels the same way as you do. A small but vocal group of people on a gaming forum does not constitute "everyone". We made this mistake back in the early RO days. There was a feature in the game (I can't remember what it was) but "everyone" on the forums said they wanted it changed. Every time there was a poll 90%+ of people would say that they wanted it changed. So we listened to "everyone" and changed it. Guess what happened. As it turns out the real "everyone" (as in the masses playing the game) actually liked it how it was ORIGINALLY before we changed it. There was outrage in the general RO community, and a rash of people coming to the forums to express that they loved the feature the way that it was, and wanted it changed back. As it turned out about 90% of the people playing the game liked it and didn't want it changed.

HOWEVER, remember that in this case we're not talking about a poll waranting any change to gameplay, but instead one about allowing people the freedom to choose wether they want that upgrade they just unlocked on their weapon or not.

I know for sure that no'one will dislike having that freedom, and I also know for sure that the game's longevity will increase as a result of introducing this option.

Infact: If you introduce the option of being able to choose your unlocked upgrades either before a match starts in the profile menu or inside the match, and I prove to be wrong about 99% of all people happily welcoming that ability, then I will gladly donate a hundred dollars for the trouble!

PS: This includes sooner or later making the bayonets detachable ingame as-well.

Some people don't like that gun at all. I never enjoyed the stg before and wont enjoy it in any form.
I don't care what gun you use either.
But I do want the choice of what to kit my guns with.

Dreading the day I get the ZF41 for the Mkb42 and then later the bayonet for the sniper. Will seriously kill half the game for me :(

We got some serious lackings in this game atm, some I had hoped were limited to the beta only:

1) Unlocks are fixed and can't be chosen on or off once unlocked.
2) Bayonets are fixed and can't be detached or attached ingame.
3) Bayonets for sniper rifles - it hardly gets more ridiculous

Fix these three problems and the value & longevity of the game will increase tenfold.

To be honest when i heard about the unlock system it never even crossed my mind that you wouldnt be able to choose which ones to use..its just the accepted way of doing things in these kind of games, just seems a bizarre choice to take the option out of the players hands.

Same here, I was convinced we were going to be able to choose between our unlocked upgrades even in the beta. Needless to say I got a rude awakening upon playing the retail!
