Never played the mod, went straight to RO retail.

Silent service was great but I prefered Red Storm Rising, dont know why. I miss Wings from Cinemaware there, maybe because its for Amiga (but platform shouldnt matter)

I played none of those yet except RO1, which should be like, 2nd or 1st*, not 13th.

*Along with Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault.

Brothers in arms Road to hill30 was an awesome game when it first came out.

Also I wonder if Call of Duty 2 will be down that line at all?

My Vote would go to Battlefield 1942 and its Modifikation.
Land, Air and Seabattles on all main locations of the world.
I would love to see if TWI could address this with RO3 (Land/Air/Sea).

oh when I was a kid, I got Silent service II as a gift from my friends.
It was my first Sub game...much later I got into Silent Hunter 2 and 3.

I love Brothers in Arms! This game is the best storytellingwise.

But, as for input, RO1 should be nearer to the top, IMHO. Silent Service used to keep me up for hours, and I hope to see Silent Hunter 3 in there somewhere. I would hope one of the decent COD games (1 or 2) will be in there rather than World at War.

For me, the flightsim IL-2 Sturmovik is by far the best WWII game of the past years. Released in 2001 and still going strong, it was one of the first games to bring the Eastern Front to Western PC's!

I'd vote for that.
Although Red Baron II was good also for it's time.

I know there's a Source version too, but IIRC it removed the Commonwealth.

I was lucky and got to play Day of Defeat from the very first release. Was the greatest WW2 mod I ever played.

DOD is kinda still around, I check servers every so often, but most are bots. Tons of weapons, had a massive custom content database during the golden years.
