The zed should be fairly tough like a husk, spawn about as often and knock players back 10 or 20 feet when it rams them.

It would be the campers nightmare. Everyone panics as it blazes through the hoard, trying desperately to kill it before it knocks the team about to much, paying no attention to the group of gorefasts running after it.

I think it would be fun.

Huh. Faster-chargin Gorefast Mark II for Zed-based balancing?

Could be an effective anti-sharpshooter if it had a armoured or very small head, would fit with the head butting too.

In general I feel that since the long-range DPS has increased so dramatically (2 perks with about double the DPS max, not to mention a new king of long-range AOE with the Demo)... Zeds that can close to melee range faster are important to bring challenge back to the game. The Husk is a good way to bring the damage in faster, since he has a projectile weapon, but more would be helpful, imo.

I hear you. This game is a bit to easy with the tier 3 weapons. Harder zeds are needed.

It would have to be quite weak so that it doesn't become a problem if you see it coming, about as strong a clot, but could also be able to charge from behind a group of other specimens, moving them aside as it charges through making it harder to see coming and giving any camping players a nasty jump.

So...it'd be the Charger from Left 4 Dead 2, then? Because you've almost exactly described that, right down to the fact that the Charger was designed as anti-camping. No offense, just pointing that out.

gorefasts are only fast when they charge. i would like to see a specimen that goes from "hey look a (insert name here)" to "OMG GET IT OFF ME" in like 2 seconds.

So...a Gorefast, right? They can keep pace with a knife-wielding medic on Suicidal, no joke. And since they attack in packs and can hit-on-the-move, they tend to account for about 50% of all player fatalities in our Suicidal games, if not more!

The problem is that any charging specimen that can't be easily ripped apart by gunfire is basically a rehashed Fleshpound. And any one that CAN be ripped apart by gunfire is a rehashed Gorefast. They filled the 'Charging melee' roles quite well. A specimen with knockback would be cool, but I forsee glitches.

I never played L4D 2... but why not use a perfectly good anti camping zed simply because another game has a similar monster?

Like that, but on normal and with only the one hit after a successful charge, then a cool down or slow normal attacks. It would be much faster on suicidal.

eh, gorefasts are nearly there but not quite. I want something that RUNS. on four feet if possible. something that you CAN'T run away from if you don't spot it. besides a raged fp. the way the gorefast runs is not very intimidating.

It would be tougher and not have any crazy immobilizing ability. The anti-camp functionality and always-fast run speed is much needed to increase difficulty and mix up gameplay.

Gorefasts aren't really that fast, especially from a distance before they charge. They also stop before swinging. The FP is slow unless raged. What's needed is a zed that's ALWAYS fast, faster than a charging gorefast, but not as fast as a charging scrake/FP.

The problem is that any charging specimen that can't be easily ripped apart by gunfire is basically a rehashed Fleshpound. And any one that CAN be ripped apart by gunfire is a rehashed Gorefast. So there's nothing in between? Rubbish. Besides the bull's speed (which would make a huge difference), there's a good mid-point in terms of health between gorefast and FP, which would also make a big difference for a bull-like zed. Literally from the time you spot one you'll only have a short while to bring it down painlessly. If it's across a map, no problem for a Commando/SS but if it comes charging around a nearby corner you'll probably crap your pants.

never say never. it's not like TWI has ever told us they planned on putting our ideas in, but yet they have on many occasions. they also haven't ever said they wouldn't be adding in any more specimens. when you know nothing, don't automatically assume the worst.

I you assume the worst, you can't be disappointed.

what's so bad about disappointment

"aaw man they didn't release a new specimen with the latest update."

big woop

real disappointment is when you drive your date home and she doesn't invite you in for "coffee"

or when she does but it turns out she has a d**k

or buying MW2 for pc

Behind You!
Packs of gorefasts generate more than enough 'oh ****' moments on suicidal.
They move as fast as you with a knife! No need for something even faster.

Indeed, you cant even outrun a gorefast when they are charging towards you on suicidal, unless you are medic or berserker (and Im not even sure about berserker).

So, to reply to this topic, gorefast already fills the purpouse of a fast specimen. We dont need some rhino-like creature.

About 2 hits from them and you are pointless.

LOOOL!

Twice as fast as a gorefast. No matter the difficulty. So on normal; say a gorefast runs at a speed of 2, it would run at a speed of 4, On suicidal if a gorefast ran at 6, it would run at 12.

As said, it would add a few more "OH ****" moments.
