Hey fellas,

Most shooters have realistic movement animations for humans right now but it feels like still there is something missing, don't you think.

Currently Ostfront's soldiers are screaming like hell when they are dying, sometimes it seems they even do when they're shot in the head. Still they don't scream when they just receive pain like the impact of a buttstock swing or when a grenade frag hits them (without killing). There's no reaction on it. They should scream as they are "feeling" pain just like as we'd do and you as a player should hear yourself screaming just like as you're hearing voice commands.

The next thing is that as it turns cold in Stalingrad we should see the breath of the player models. Also as TWI confirmed a full breathing model this would look nice. Small clouds when you're not moving or just walking, large clouds, developing fast, after sprinting.
And yeah, the breath should be visible in 1st person also.

Your thoughts lads!

I think there has been some debate about this already. I would like this feature, if it would be done realistically. Meaning that soldiers would not be puffing away like steam engines.

Yeah adding those little breathing clouds would increase immersion and realistical feel about the gaming experience :)

my only real wishes, when it comes to the player characters would be these:

Firstly, the damage model needs to be kind of redone, less leg fractures from jumping down small distances.

Also fractures and bullet damage should not exactly speaking add up, they are different type of damage and you don't necessarily DIE any easier if you've had a leg fracture and subsequently you are shot in the leg for example. Of course the pain itself will increase and might cause you to pass out but still...

Also when you get shot in the leg in RO1, your player character completely freezes for a few seconds and its completely impossible to move (except go prone in place where you were standing).

In real life if you were running and then you got shot in the leg, you would probably fall forwards and tumble around a little bit. This kind of realistic change if implemented in RO2 would increase short term survival in a firefight I think, which would be great.

Also it would be damn neat if you could customize your player characters uniform. For example you could choose to wear a field cap or a helmet as Germans, and ushanka, pilotka, or helmet as Soviets and so forth... Camouflage netting fixed onto a helmet through chickenwire or simply a painted helmet...

Amazing Ideas! I am all for both of these.

i believe the broken leg issue in RO:Ost from falling is not to simulating a broken leg, but more like a strained ankle.
It was funny Ostfront that you would loose a leg if you died from falling off a high object.

games don't render gas like how we see in real life. 1st person breath would fail big time and be obtrusive and annoying.

it's the same reason you don't blink or go to the bathroom in games.

3rd person breathing visuals sound good.

Not a bad set of ideas IMHO.

players in RO are rendered dead when incapaciated
wich means breaking your leg = death
getting shot in the bone of your leg =death

if you pass out you are rendered dead

It's a good idea, in my opinion. I've playing Cryostasis and breathing effect is not bad or intrusive, my pc is next to the A/C, and the inmersion level is funny in those moments xD. I wolud like to see a similar effect in RO2

Definitely.

Also, in Live For Speed you can create your own car skins which are visible to other players, it would be awesome if you could paint your own helmet in RO.
