I'm glad there's someone else out there who understands women so little he thinks they're a different race as well as gender/sex.

Good on you man. *brofist*

;)

if you are unable to understand the meaning of the sentence en bloc, then you shall try to replace "racist" with "sexist" ;).

Unbelievable. 4 out of 6 characters that are as silly as can be are on the poll, and all 4 are the top voted characters.
Ms. Foster? Chickenator? Seriously? These are the characters people want, rather than classics like Alfred Anderson, Wilkes, or even some of the lesser known ones like Wiggins or Gary Glover?

It would honestly make me sad if the Chickenator will be one of the first returning characters. I'm not one to dictate what all of the community wants, but I can only hope TW considers releasing Chickenator near the END of Early Access rather than add it right away like playing KFC's long lost mascot is integral to the game's success.
I just have no idea why 2 female characters are in the top votes either. If Ana turned out so bad, why would people want more female characters?

literally the first thing you do is cry that people want different characters than you. Then you go on to say "oh people cant have different opinions?! this is an echo chamber!" when someone disagrees with you. and youre right in that you nor i nor any one else can really dictate which characters come out when, but obviously the majority of people want the chickenator so yes, it would probably be a sound move for TWI to make. Finally, female characters are plain and simple needed. its been discussed many times in the forum and its been mostly agreed upon that there should be a fair amount more of female characters. adding just one more isnt going to kill the game anyway, you silly goose.

What would make you think such a thing would happen?

That seems to be the pattern so far. I might not be a fortune teller but I tend to be on the cynical side of things.
Tanaka and Donovan act as sterotypes and Mr. Foster is obnoxious. Ash Harding from the previous game made references to her gender and how everyone else was male, etc.
Ana, whether intentionally or not, tries to come off as a victim of circumstance that now has to fight in a zombie apocalypse-ish event as a hired mercenary, but she comes off as an annoying teenager who has been there done that, and her voice acting sure don't help.

So with Mr. Foster basically being a huge tool and talking about money constantly (which I'm sure was intentional) I can only see Ms. Foster being as much of a tool. That is to say, using her gender as a device to make jokes while talking about money.
I could be wrong, but I won't be surprised at all if I'm not.

I was not saying having an opinion different from mine is wrong, I was pointing out the opinions thing when Sandcracka tried to play my thoughts down as pointless crying. Of course the Chickenator can be added, and I have no problem with it being added eventually, I just think right now the game could use a little more variety before the really silly characters start getting added.
Same thing with female characters. I do not have a problem with them being added, but I do have a problem with them being silly or annoying and being added straight away. Once we have a cast of around 15-20 characters I think it's totally fine to bring out the silly characters.

Again, I'm not trying to DICTATE what characters should be added here or there, when or how, or what gender or costume they'll be wearing. I'm voicing my concern and thoughts, just as other people are happy if the Chickenator will be added soon. Ms. Foster will be a fine addition as long as she isn't what I just described above, at least not to such an extent where it seems like the only thing ticking in her (and Mr. Foster's) brain is a bunch of nickels clashing together to form a chorus of "dosh" echoing in their skulls.

1. why shouldnt female characters be added straight away?
2. why do you assume theyll all be silly?
3. why are you so afraid of women?

If you understood the complexities between female menstrual cycles and the Moon's gravitational pull (and with it, the tide, etc.) then you would be as well.

I'm guessing you cherry picked every sentence you saw "female" and didn't read the rest.
1. Never said that.
2. Because Ana is silly, Ms. Foster (related to Mr. Foster in case you had no idea) will probably take a lot of inspiration from Mr. Foster and be as silly, if not more.
3. Don't trust people who bleed every month without dying.

I guess the real question is why does he even play the game if he hates all of the characters so much?

no, but i definitely ignored your whole thing, right?

Let me clarify:
I have no problem with characters who are moderately silly, or for that matter behave like a relatively normal person, be added to the game soon.
I do have a problem with a character acting obnoxious, stupid, or behave otherwise very out of place (regardless of if they're male or female) be added sooner than other characters who are less extreme on either spectrum of either seriousness or sillyness.

Silly/stupid/obnoxious female character being added now - I don't like it.
Female character who behaves not too extremely being added now - I have no problem with it.

Also, Sandcracka, I don't know what beef you have with me that forces you to insult me passive aggressively, but whatever your problem is with me you can rest assured I don't have a problem with you.

thats all fine and dandy, but you shouldnt start your "criticism" with "are these the characters people really want? why dont they want the characters i want" because people will naturally react negatively to that, especially considering youre in the minority. also, chill brah i dont think sandcracka REALLY has anything against you.

That's a great way to address a post going into detail. Here's my response:
You are a donkey's rear.

You seem to have a very short memory span.

I am in the minority, and I know I'm probably not right when it comes to what the community wants. I just wanted to say what I think, and in this case I'm probably in the minority on wanting more personality-balanced characters.
Whatever character TW releases will be up to them, all I was doing with my statement was trying to bring a different point of view to the table.

Still hope Alfred Anderson will be one of the next few characters, though.

It's all perceptions I guess. I don't find Anna anoying at all, and I get the feeling that TWI are going to steer clear of any massively overt sexual lines this time around, and certainly nothing as shocking and crass as what you suggested for Ms. Foster. Maybe you are just too cynical.

For once I'm going to just ignore the sexism flamewar above...

Instead I'm going to ask why, in general, so many people have such strong dislikes for so many characters? If a character isn't a smarmy brit or some ***hole cynical brooding man in a suit, SOMEBODY hates them.

Also if one character can have a nervous breakdown and become a racist asian characature because he was in samurai/yakuza movies, then why can't another character have a nervous breakdown and hide his face behind a chicken mask? I embrace the return of the commando chicken / chickenator (I assume there will just be accessories to allow for both variations on the same character)

I mean, along with security officer Thorne, Commando Chicken was my favorite model for playing Firebug, for obvious ironic reasons.

Whats the matter? you call something "sexism" that just dealt with the topic if tripwire shall implement more female or male characters. None of the people really intended to be a sexist, they just made clear their opinions and supported their arguments in a sober way.

If someone judges this as an act of sexism, this person shall urgently read these replies again and again until he/she gets the meaning. ;)

Furthermore, I think adding these characters that won the vote would ruin the game's atmosphere, because adding characters like these would lead the game into the wrong direction. KF2 does not need characters that are too comical, it would turn the game into a mess, the dystopic atmosphere would suffer from these Implementations.

Careful, I tried explaining that commando chicken was a fan favorite and was quickly met with insults comparing me to a donkey's rectum.

I don't hate the Commando Chicken because he isn't a Brit, I hate him because he doesn't fit the theme of Killing Floor. Killing Floor kind of lost its gritty theme after the Steampunk skins and all, but I didn't mind them. They were neat. The Commando Chicken is so far off from the theme I can't stand it. They are obviously going for a darker game in Killing Floor 2, and I like that, and I would prefer they stick with it. A Commando Chicken is the last thing I want to see in this game. If someone else wants it in the game, that's fine, but I just don't.

Is this vote binding? To be more precise, will these characters, that won the vote, be implemented for sure? Or shall this vote just give some orientation to the developers?
