70% want survivors over soldiers, and the majority (at 64.5%) want to those survivors to be non professional.

Jesus, I don't like this feeling of being the minority because this sounds awful. Survivors and Soldiers are both fine but some unprofessional fresh meat civilians over professionals like Medics and Firefighters are not. I guess we'll have to see how this is handled but please no Chickenator or any other possible combination of animals and/or robots. That being said I suggested a possible crossover with Serious Sam or E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy because the opportunity presented itself. Maybe I should have swapped out E.Y.E. for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I know that he just popped up in COD but if Bruce Campbell could do some voicework for an Ash styled character I would be in heaven.

I also voted for the steampunk beserker. He is the main character I used in KF1 and would love to see some alternate clothes for him

I'm finding this extremely interesting myself. I am a tad puzzled by people going for the less serious chaarcters however. I realise KF always had an amusing nature, but I'm surprised the goofier/less cannon characters are the ones people are driving for.

I for one love the history of Killing Floor, I find it rather stimulating tying ends together and linking the 2 games. I'd personally love to see more attempts made to tie into a story/the original back story. The original mod had a rather dark and apocalyptic tone about it, hell in the campaign I think you only ever met 2 people alive, and 1 of them tries to kill you. Everyone else was a corpse or a piece of one.

Naturally Killing Floor had that humerous element to it, but certainly in the early days of the game it felt like a very gritty, last ditch effort to survive, even before I discovered the games history.

Personally I would like to see more soldier types, trying to hold the line after whole battalions of their friends had been swept away by the specimens. I would like some kind of an insight into how exactly Kevin/Hans managed to breach the channel and bring their forces into Europe.

At the moment I'm feeling like there is a severe lack of French forces, I mean in KF1 most of the British forces were wiped out, but the original team of survivors were all from the quarantine of West London. Where are the European soldiers? Some french/belgian soldiers perhaps would be nice.

Personally I'd vote for a male French police officer/soldier (since we have a female French survivor), and a female Belgian soldier.

Just because people are not seeing their preferred charater\charater style, doesn't mean there's no hope in us ever getting it. I think tripwire just wants to get out what the majority wants for starters.

No one wants 20 of the same character, I'm sure there will be enough diversity eventually. But its EA.

I would also prefer to see serious, believable characters that may be related to the canon (a co-worker of hans who was at odds with him before the outbreak, for example). Part of the reason I never got to 1,000 hours despite being so close (currently 970-ish) was because towards the end of its life KF1 began to feel like a horribly mismatched salad of random nonsense strewn together. The theming went to hell and I was hoping this wouldn't happen again in KF2 but here we are before the first additional perk gets added and we're already facing going into "lets throw everything silly in because they're individually funny and not pay attention to the overall theme of the game". Leave the pony/touhou/TRON/Steampunk/Pepsi-man stuff to the mods.

Additionally- would like to see more characters that can be tied to perks. see;

• Foundry Worker Aldridge - Support Specialist

That could be cool. At the risk of sounding racist or unsympathetic what about a German Jew who was possibly experimented on by Volter in the war so he has a real grudge? Could be a great character and you could have costume options that show off implants/enhancements from the experiments

Ms. Foster? Chickenator? Seriously? These are the characters people want, rather than classics like Alfred Anderson, Wilkes, or even some of the lesser known ones like Wiggins or Gary Glover?

It would honestly make me sad if the Chickenator will be one of the first returning characters. I'm not one to dictate what all of the community wants, but I can only hope TW considers releasing Chickenator near the END of Early Access rather than add it right away like playing KFC's long lost mascot is integral to the game's success.
I just have no idea why 2 female characters are in the top votes either. If Ana turned out so bad, why would people want more female characters?

Yeah I feel the same.

Though I miss RO2 chacters with their original voices. Otherwise I prefer believable characters, no chicken/robot nonsense. Dr. Gary Glover, paramedic Alfred Anderson and paratrooper Clive Jenkins. Wish there were more proffesional characters and military or home defence. No gangster/street bling tough guys.

I totally agree with you, i really dislike these characters, but if the democracy votes for them, the developers have to deal with that fact that the majority wants to see them in the game.

Personally i prefer more male characters, due to the fact that more male people play this game, dont get me wrong, im not a racist, but i think it would fit much better to the game if it has more male than female characters.

It is unbelievable the amount of people crying in this thread. People like the chicken costumes. Deal with it. People want to be able to choose from more than one female character. Deal with it. KF1 started with roughly the same amount of characters as KF2 has now. Currently, KF1 has over 35 playable characters (not sure how many exactly). It would be a safe bet that the devs will be adding more and more playable characters as the game evolves. Keep in mind, this game is not all about business and seriousness. In KF there is a lot of comic relief. Listen to all of the funny lines the characters say. The commando chicken was brought in as a reward for completing achievements during the Halloween event. It was a Halloween costume, and it was very popular. So much so that the devs made the chickenator, which was also popular. If female characters and chickens make it into the game first, there will be a lot of happy people. But rest assured there will be many other characters to play as later on.

I guess criticism and feedback that isn't coming from an echo chamber is considered "crying." I'm truly sorry I do not share your opinion, I hope one day you can forgive me.
You know, I already added the disclaimer "if TW wants to do it, I guess they'll do it" but I guess that wasn't enough. Some people don't like the idea of robot chickens being added to the game sooner than other characters and while they might be in the minority (despite all the top voted characters only adding up to about 30-35% of the votes) that doesn't mean that their concern isn't validated.

TW released the game with a relatively serious cast, the exceptions being notably Mr. Foster and DJ Scully. I think DJ Scully is a good kind of not serious and Mr. Foster is just obnoxious, but I can't see how adding the Chickenator this early will help. If people want a character as silly as possible, why don't we add someone wearing bondage gear and all his lines are muffled because he's wearing a ball gag. Oh and he leaves a trail of pink paint wherever he goes, because he's just silly.

I don't have a problem with female characters being introduced, it's just that it would be fair to assume (AS RIDICULOUS AS YOU MAY THINK I SOUND) that most people playing this game are male. Yes there are some people who want to play as female characters and that's fine, but I would rather not see any characters added with the chance of being as annoying as Ana, and so far with how Mr. Foster acts and the popularity of the Chickenator, as well as the stereotyping of characters added (Tanaka, Donovan) I would really not like to hear a Ms. Foster going around making sex jokes and saying she will bang anyone for a buck because she loves dosh so much.

But hey, I guess TW cannot make any wrong decisions because urrr it's their game make your own if you don't like it so who am I judge their decisions as if I'm not supposed to be a cult member blindly accepting anything and everything they do.
If you want the Chickenator, fine. I don't want the Chickenator. And if you call that crying, then how is any complaint or criticism about the game not 'crying'?
