Red Orchestra is secretly one giant social experiment on an elaborate de_rats.

The picture with the Mkb actually looks fine. If the gun is 37" long or 3 feet, then that would make the soldier about 6 feet tall.

Everything else though seems problematic yeah.

When I first saw RO2 I never noticed it. But then as it got closer to release I knew something was wrong but I couldn't put a finger on it. Now that I've read this thread it made perfect sense. the scale is totally off. I can't figure out why.

A friend pointed this out to me when I was playing Homefront. Same issue. It made me wonder how common this was among FPS's. I personally don't see a big deal. I already get stuck on everything and would hate to have to deal with it even more. Besides, that zoom looks a lot better now, huh? ;)

So, when I play the game, its not that bad in motion. Espescially apartments looks fine but the hugely oversized MGs and sandbags and the train need a new scale.

Welcome to video games.

The problem with real life dimensions is they do not look correct through a first person screen perspective that FPS games use. Railings and walls at realistic heights look too low and doors, stairs, and windows look too small.

I really wish this wasn't the case but it is, and it's a nightmare to solve... you basically have to trade off. Do you want a playable area with space to move that is much larger than real life or do you want a cramped space which is frustrating to navigate which has realistic dimensions?

THIS: IT ONLY LOOKS SMALL IN THIRD PERSON, but in first person it looks fine. I say leave it as it is. Not a big deal.

Now I really am worried about the release. Either TWI let's them look like lil kids, or it gets a big delay. I seriously don't see how nobody has noticed this before

Mind blown.

I'll never be able to unsee this.

Player models are supposed to be 5'9.

Which means that the enviroments are too big. Not the characters being too small. If one were to scale down enviroments futher to compensate it would most likely create tons of new problems, especially cover.

One week from release with numerous other things to take care of I very much doubt we'll see anything done about this.
