I noticed in the "Boots on the Ground" Trailer quite a bit of Uniform Variety. I might go as far to say as maybe even more than in the Original Rising Storm, and its still in Alpha!

First Off: Heritage, saw some African Americans in the trailer.
Shirtless Soldiers: First guy we saw up close was Shirtless, and in the Village Firefight you can see a Shirtless VC in the background.
Helmets: Lots of different Helmet Variety. I saw a book of matches in one, some helmet inscriptions, cigarettes. A couple of guys didnt even have helmets and were bald.

This is probably just because its a different Branch, like with the Army and Marines in RS, but you can see some U.S Marines in the city wearing ERDL camo, interesting.

Could all this variety mean character customization? There is customization in KF2 after all.

There was also different helmet camo being used at the same time for the Americans during the base attack sequence. Some had Mitchell covers, others had the ERDL covers.
It looks like customization to me

I hope the skins and clothings are assigned to the classed and there are different sets for different maps when needed. Nice to have would be if there was a random seeed which assigns a certain amount of faces which exceeds the numbers of the classes to the players randomly.

microtransactions

But Are purchasable customisation options a bad thing? When they don't affect gameplay. You might also end up thinking them worth it when you realised you have 1000 hours in a game you paid $20 for.

What I think is going on here is that we are seeing different "Factions." We know that there will be separate ones. The U.S Army and the U.S Marine Corps for the U.S and the Vietcong and the North Vietnamese Army for the Pro-Communist Forces. I think what we see with the ERDL is the Faction Variety, I believe they are Marines, due to the fact that the Marines were the primary users of ERDL, and had the older weapons (m3 Grease Gun).

Even though officially ERDL wasn't part of the marines uniform.

Would rather see this in a level up system rather than modified weapons.
Vietnam was probably more renowned than other campaigns for having soldiers with modified uniforms.
I want an Afro that can deflect RPGs.

Exactly.

I also kind of like the idea of being able to type your own message on your helmet, as mentioned above ; but I'm afraid it might become too unrealistic then, unless there is some kind of control on what you could type ?

I know that is an older screenshot from the teaser, but if there is anything we can gather from it is that there will be diversity in how people will look.

I think a compromise on customization would be if they had a bunch of different designs/insignia that the player could choose from, to put on their helmet. Maybe as you unlock a new tier (every couple of levels) you get access to new visual things you could do to your character.
