I like the idea aswell, apart from the fact that we in the end would be playing a game of field marshals and generals fighting eachother.
Check it out boys and girls:
...probably the biggest FPS title of the year:

There's a shooter involving the insane clown possee?play shooter where you paint your guns and wear clown makeup....
Just enough customisation to adequately allow you to create a personalised soldier portfolio that is unique to you is all I ask for. Nothing major or drastic but enough to be able to differenciate between one another.

Thats interesting idea, would be nice if player can choose about several types of body(little more taller, fatter but not too much),heads, helmets(which differ by degree of contamination, shade...)
AND there weren't any M-43 caps in Stalingrad. If I dare see one on a German I'm going to puke.
I'm aware that your character will change in look over time (which is awesome) but it would still be incredible to be able to change the general look of your soldier so we don't have a bunch of clones running around!
Customization within reason is perfectly acceptable. It adds that personal touch that has no negative side effects in terms of gameplay.
To summarise, Do you believe Character Customisation, regarding all levels of apparell (Helmet, Tunic e.t.c) should be added to Red Orchestra 2 and if so to what extent and in what way should it be implemented.
In my opinion customisation should be aesthetic and most probably would only be feasable if it was purely textural changes, however these are my requests.
Possible areas of Customisation:
Helmet - Decal or No Decal, Colour, Accessories such as Netting/foliage, Camoflage covers, Strap or No Strap
Tunic - Colour gradient, Wear and tear, Emblems & medals, Cut type (M36/M41)
Shoes - Boots i.e Office cut, Rider cut or Infantry cut, shoes with or without gators.
Equiptment - Tin or No Tin, Y-Straps or No Y-Straps, Feltbahn, Kettle, Knife, Spade, Binoculars.

Definitely, though I don't know about the emblems/medals, I don't think real soldiers had much chance to decide if they wanted to cover their uniforms with all the medals [they hadn't actually earned].
For the helmet, I would love to have an M42 splintertarn cover. Chicken wire could be cool, too!Possible areas of Customisation:

Well there is also the idea in our "Best of ideas" thread that you can earn medals and wear them.
(so Sturm means of course medals the player already earned.)
