Code Changing the weapon speed mod?

I want to implement a mod that increases the players' speed when using a knife. But I want it as a mutator since I'm going to use it with CD.
Note: I did implement it using a gamemode, but can I set the (KFWeap_Edged_Knife)'s weaponmod to 1.2 for example?
