I wonder how many of those 20(?) round magazines were made and did those see any combat use? I think there were around 300 AVT sniper rifles made in Mednogorsk No.314 factory in 1943, so at least it's kinda historical.
I agre also. Russians basicaly get another sniper in the team because of this. If they add the bigger mag it would be better because germans get the mg42
The magazines in both pictures are from Finnish M/26 "Lahti-Saloranta" LMG. Some people claim those magazines are compatible with SVT/AVT, but it's not sure. At least one guy who tested it, says that the magazine is too big for SVT and the soldier in picture just holds SVT on top of it:

The soviets don't need a scope which is buggy they need a proper rifle with a 20 round magazine, hopefully it will stop the players moaning about MG42?
Those are obviously Finnish modifications.
This thread is silly. Magazine size won't help the Soviet team out. That's not the problem with the SVT and AVT.
It's already bad enough that we have stupid prototype weapons in the game. We don't need another silly prototype that never made it to the front lines in any considerable numbers.
Why and.. even if so, what should it mean?

Not really its not adding anything it's just getting rid of the scope on the AVT and using a 20 round magazine instead.
He's most likely a Finn. The helmet is either a Swedish m/37 or a Finnish-manufactured licensed copy m/40 and the grenade seems to be a Finnish made Varsikranaatti M/32. The guy behind him definitely wears a Finnish M36 field cap. Photo is most likely staged and as I already wrote, the soldier is likely just holding the SVT on a magazine from the Finnish Lahti-Saloranta M/26 LMG. Same photo can be found from the Finnish Wartime Photo Archive; photo number 27078. Caption says, that the photo is taken in Suokumaa 1941.07.21, which is nowadays a part of Finnish city called Lappeenranta near Russian border.
Nice, but normal SVTs and SVT snipers shouldn't get the 20 round magazine just the AVT needs the mag.

Why? The AVT has so much recoil in full auto it wouldn't matter either way. And they were issued with 10 round mags.
And 15-20 round mags look at my forgotten weapons post, don't tell me that you actually like that scope?!
Guys I play with complain about magazine capacity with the AVT.

Yes, it states that when the 15 rounds mags were used groupings became worse and it couldn't be fired prone. Sounds like something that would not be put into production.

You use bursts and a larger magazine would equal AVT with MkB42, consider how much damage it does!
Im not basing my comment on popular belief but instead on personal experience. Also think for a moment and consider what your suggestion would imply to a person who would think about shooting an even heavier MG34 or MG42 off hand
The Mkb42/StG features VERY little recoil by comparison, yet ingame we don't see that.
