That's not for Tripwire to decide, that's the German government and it's the citizens of Germany that are responsible for putting those in office that screw them over. They should've paid closer attention to their platform and values. What I'm saying is that Tripwire did a very classy job of handling the situation and gave those of us with the uncut version the option of using the new cleaner version.
Whooooo whoooo, dude..........
1. Gamers are a tiny minority here in Germany
2. There is no mainstream party (that get's over the voting limit to get into the parlament). That supports us.
So blaming "the Germans", while many people do that is not correct here. I am not responsible for the majority of voters. All I can do is vote and support the Piratenpartei yyaaaaarrrrr.
Also many americans and british gamers talk about what is legal and what's not in Germany even tho they got no freaking clue.
You are allowed to import games and play them, no matter how much blood and gore there is. You cannot however sell them if they are banned.
So just release a cut version for the german market BUT make sure we can play the uncut.
NOW that is no problem, or at least it wasn't one until L4D2. They gave the germans new weapons and removed the security and forced that onto every client.
Now I am pretty sure that could have been avoided by doing that a bit smarter. However they could have also just said: "Ok this censoring is ****ing moronic, we just don't sell L4D in germany and let those guys order it from the UK, AUS etc. so they can enjoy the game! We love all gamers!"
Now we all know the only thing they care about is money so......
Also, I wonder why a security guard would be such a problem since we have GTA here and everything.......
