It is still possible to die almost instantly on a few maps in CD mode, when respawning.... with or without nades... the opposite team just need an experienced player who know where the spawn is... aim... ready... spawn kill....

But the topic is about the new CD mode wich is broken... and I agree, we as a team don't really play CD anymore because we loose when we normally would win, and win with WTF rules which make us win without letting opposing team a chance... this is total bull****, because of the rules and winning conditions... If Tripwire can contact some clan leaders to modify their game types I think it may be better than changing game rules after one or two dice roll in Tripwire's office after maybe too much Pi

Make CD more like Counter strike, CS is a Countdown predifined game one team atacks one deffends is as you can say the essence of this mod. Why can't it be done this way. A very common problem for old Countdown where the grenade spamming is very very ridiculous especially in enclosed spaces and also the spawning points which really were very ridiculous they looked like Tripwire was so bored that they just encoded the game with theyr eyes closed.

The Old Cd have strictly no problem AT ALL. Please for the last time let talk teams with experience . WE JUST WANT TO RETURN AT THE OLD PERFECT CD just before the big update. Sorry if that I say seem haughty but it's the reality every team which play CD know the others and are agree with that. We play every day together and we have lost to more time.

Team 1 takes first cap in 37 secs. Team 2 regroups and stiffens up defense and makes Team 1 use up all their reins and are not able to take 2nd cap. Wow team 2, great job on recovering from that poor start and showing some great team play! For your great play and hustle, you now get to RUN YOUR BUTT IN FULL SPRINT TO FIRST CAP!!!!FORGET TATICS!!!!!! RUNNN!!!!

New CD is not worth playing at its current state.

I don't think a mutator should have to be responsible for fixing a major blunder like this. I would hope that TWI would recognize what the competitive community is so upset about. However, if a mutator is the only way to fix it -- so be it. But then, have fun with that getting "whitelisted." It's truly a vicious circle.

However, I must say I'm a little upset, because -- this issue is completely different -- this is not a "stylistic" argument or a preference -- this is actually something that is 100% broken in terms of gameplay and winning conditions, etc.

You basically have what is left of the competition community telling you that they will not even consider playing competition in the CD gamemode because of the changes that broke it. You also have them telling you that it was fine the way it was when the community was so much more alive with one ladder supporting it and then the TWI/TWB Scorched Earth tournament.

Now, yes, there are things that can be done to improve on CD, but the last changes were not improvements, they were extremely detrimental, even if not intended.

If those responsible for implementing the changes could reevaluate their decision based on what the community is saying in this thread, I think they would come to the same conclusion.

Thanks for the consideration.

First in order to achieve a higher number of players the game should pe 100% optimised, eliminate all the bugs, take as an example the Source engine, Cs global offensive appeared one year later than RO 2 and it is far better optimised than it. Giving the fact that more people play the game and it is more popular, making up for the high percentage of maps which are available in-game.

I'm working on it. If everything goes well I will release it with CGT Mod update tonight. I might not have time to update the HUD during the first iteration though. CTF requires CGT to be updated quickly. Then it'll be up to TWI to get it through the white-list or not.

True that, tho, its better to have something community made than wait for a rollback that might never happen from the official side.

I'm working on it.

Thumps up man. Way to go ! :)

countdown was perfect before, that and classic mode were 2 of the things about RO2 that actually worked ...

so you decided to change it ...

you really have to wonder who makes decisions at tripwire, is it the potted plant of divination or do they just ask the window cleaner his opinions every tuesday when he's scrubbing the head office window panes ...
