My clan has always had a Capture the Flag server since our very beginnings and we hope it's only a matter of time before somebody in the mod community makes a CTF mod, but I'm just curious to see if that's currently on anybody's radar.

We also have quite a few members that love zombie mods...not myself so much, but while I'm here I might as well ask if that's on anybody's mind as well.

So is there any interest at all in this community for CTF? I know it's not realistic and I know that anything not realistic gets automatic shun from so many RO players, but come on, CTF IS STILL FUN!

I always liked the race maps with the bikes in RO1, so if that get's altered to conform to CTF, I'd play it. A lot.

I think a CTF addition to the game would be a blast, but the community is pretty entrenched in Territory mode because of RO1/RO mod. It's hard to even find a server running CD/FF right now, so I think CTF would end up with the same fate.

CTF is an awesome game type. It encourages team work, and should please both offensive and defensive players. The current maps could support CTF with minor modifications, except maybe for Gumrak and FallenFighters, which would probably need to have jeeps.

Concerning the zombies, bots are already zombies; once you get near them, you're done. Just change their uniform and their weapons :)...

Extremity, one of our members suggested as a twist, rather than when the enemy drops your flag, and it automatically returning itself to the base as soon as you touch it, that you (and your teammates) need to physically carry your flag all the way back to its rightful spot.

I'm not entirely sure if I like the idea myself, but it would certainly shake up the classic CTF game. I personally have many fond memories of stopping the enemy flag carrier just before he scores and making a dramatic last second return just before I'm killed... and it is quite often that a team can save itself in similar fashion from being scored on, so requiring them to carry it all the way back would definitely lead to more scoring, and too much scoring could make things dull. But still, not bad to be thinking about twists.

CTF with RO? sounds awesome. Wielder of the flag should have slower movement (like when carrying 2 weapons). Also auto return flag to base should be off.

Use the Halo system... you actually are carrying the flag, with both hands, with slower movement. Can't use weapons, but can bash them with flag. Can't pilot or gun for vehicles, but can use passenger seat.

Honestly though I think having to carry it back would be a hassel, especially in enemy territory, I don't think it'd work out so well.

How about for a twist, have small, capturable zones a decent ways out side from the main route to the enemy? The capturable zones can give some sort of bonus to who ever holds it, like an ammo supply for tanks and infantry, or a bit of a forward spawn to have another way to get around the enemy.

Bit of a leap there though, people might start playing it as TE ^_^

Auto return off...... picking it up and working with your teammates to return it is way more fun.

Actually, the best would probably be to have it as an option on the server... some servers could play it with team-return and others with auto-return.
