It's currently unlisted because people were using it to effortlessly farm explosives damage. It was relegated to unlisted status before the greylist was created, though, and it might as well be put there instead.

at least this mutator must be in the greylist
funny, this mutator is shipped with killing floor and isnt' greylisted LOL

I think the mutators were some kind of leftovers from the mod days and the Devs never fully tested them for the retail version. So, later on when they realized its way too easy to level perks on them, they dewhitelisted them.

But yeah I dont know why they dont allow using perks on every mut/map by default and just deny leveling. Is it because theyd have to manually do the change for EVERY mutator and map out there?

We've been over this. Due to limitations of the Steamworks platform, automatically greylisting mutators would allow mutators of malicious intent to add perk experience and Achievements at their leisure. The manual auditing process exists to ensure that listed mutators play by the rules.

The stock specimen-only mutators should be greylisted because they're known not to pull any dud stunts, but the same guarantee cannot be extended to every mutator in existence.

Now that i think about it more, i can see the point with mutators, but shouldnt maps be ok then? or can maps have dodgy code for that sort of thing too?

I dont get the point... Pandemonium is a mutator made by TWI, so why is not greylisted?

As far as I know, there is no map greylist - unlisted maps are equivalent to greylisted mutators.

I don't understand why everything wouldn't be grey listed. You can use your perks and not improve them. What exactly is the point of a black list?

The greylist is a mod tool. You can use it to access perks to check if things are properly leveling and balance it out since greylisted mods will level perks in a match but will not save. Once everything is ironed out, then it can move on to whitelisting.

Imagine if everything was greylisted. The only way to tell if a game you were in accumulated stats would be to complete a match, then wait for the map to change to check if what you earned had actually saved. There are already plenty of posts about perks not leveling "correctly". The situation is confusing enough to new players. Greylisting everything would be a nightmare for everyone. For a player's perspective, greylist is exactly the same as non-whitelist (with the above problem). It doesn't add anything of value to anyone other than mod authors.

-there is no point of a blacklist. It would be impossible to maintain, so there isn't one.

The Killing Floor Greylist

By community demand, Tripwire Interactive would like to announce the creation and use of the "Greylist". This is a list, much like the whitelist that allows the use of your perks, however with this list your perks will be reset to what they were at the start of the round when the map changes. This was created so community members could use their hard earned perks with their favorite mods and mutators!

The current list can be found HERE
