RO2 Cannot open game through steam

I had just bought RO2/RS steam key on G2A today, downloaded the multiplayer and multiplayer versions of it, and attempted to launch multiplayer. The start-up logo appeared with Rising Storm written on it. But when it finished loading, a medium-sized window appeared. It was all black except a small caption that said: "Unreal Engine 3". The music started to play, but nothing appeared. Than, the window crashed.

I tried verifying the game caches or whatever on Steam and installing the DirectX package that supposedly didn't come with Windows. My specs are: Windows 8.1, GTX 750Ti, Intel Core i5 Processor at 3.4 GHz, and 8 GB of RAM.

Edit: Ok now my Single player works but not my Multiplayer RS/RO2.

I have the same issue. Windows 10....worked fine on my older win 7 machine

Hey, Tripwire, can you step up and say something....not everyone is having this issue but there are a few...tried all the posted supposed fixes and nothing is working.

after messing around for a while I may have a solution for some people having win 10 issues....

set compatibility mode to win 7 under the exe. That may or may not work....it sort of worked for me. I got further but it crashed/locked again. I then ran a compatibility test. That failed because it did not run through steam. However after starting the game it worked. It almost crashed/locked when I switched to 2560x1440 resolution in game but it seems to working now....good luck
