This blob might actually be a peripheral vision marker for a muzzle flash that You would see in real life, but You can't in video game because of it's specific limitations.

If so, it should stay even on realism servers imho.

Have more faith Guys, TWI has it all preety much figured out.

I already attempted to get this across but he has convinced himself that he knows best unfortunately.

I already tried to point this out as have others, but he has convinced himself that he knows best and everybody else is wrong, so I left him to it

Edit: If there is a dayglow arrow that indicates who shot you, then I'm with the OP and would like to be able to disable it :)

He just asked if it could be disabled with server options. I rather not have it in realism servers also or singleplayer for that matter.

If that's the case , then the arrow shouldn't show up very often, depending on the conditions it can be hard to actually see an enemy muzzle flash, its not something that you'd automatically always see..

However the clip linked is a night/evening map by the looks of it so, it might have made it easier to spot.

When the direction indicator for nearly misses was first showcased in videos. Tripwire said AFAIK that they would be optional. It might end up to be one of the things disabled in the realistic setting.

Although that was quite a while ago so things might have changed in that aspect.

Nice, hopefully it's stayed this way!

So now we've seen the videos and the white directional fire indicators.

Any more info on this?

Can anyone comment if the fire indicators can be turned off, server side, hopefully?

Me no likes them :(

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you are talking about. Please return to Call of Duty. In real combat, no... you have NO IDEA where bullets are flying at you from. There isn't some magical button to press so a triangle shows up over a spotted enemies head (BC2). Your ONLY source of information is your squad, a muzzle flash, or eye contact.

It's supposed to be artificial peripheral vision, the rifleman was obvious just outside the screen, meaning that is where the peripheral vision starts.

There are peripheral vision indicators, little arrows that appear on the sides of your screen when there is some movement outside of your normal vision. this is OK and not what we're talking about.

I mean the white fire indicators that appear briefly when someone is shooting at you and tell you from which direction the bullets are coming from. These are not ok for people who prefer a more realistic gameplay experience.

Like others have said, in a real battle you have no idea where fire is coming from, so hopefully there will be a way to disable them in realism mode or server side or something.
