Hey folks

I use a USB headset with its own audio processor for VOIP in most games, while my game audio is handled by my ASUS Xonar DX sound card. This allows me to have 5.1 surround sound, with just the VOIP piped directly to my headset. Is there any way to do this with RO2, as currently all incoming VOIP is being played back through my 5.1 system, not the headset?

This may or may not work for exactly what youre trying to do, but it might be a start and you can figure it out from here. RO2 has the windows "sticky" device bug, where whatever output device is set as default WHEN THE GAME STARTS, will remain the output device after the game is running, even if you change the default.

This bug is what I use to have RO2(sound + voip) go into my USB headset, and play music over the speakers:

Step 1.
Set your USB headset as windows "default" device.

Step 2.
Start RO2

Step 3.
Alt+Tab and set your 5.1 system as windows "default" device.

Step 4.
Play music.

At this point, RO should be coming over the USB headset, and music should be coming over the 5.1. I realize this isn't EXACTLY what you are trying to do, but maybe it'll give you a start?
