Unfortunately that is not true.
There is no "snap and stay on" aim assist in the PC version, but the hit boxes are so large that you can shoot 30cm to the left of someone's head and you'll still hit him.

There is enough video evidence for this.

Yup, however i think, that hitboxes are so large to make laggy players easy to hit too, cause MW2 didn't have dedicated servers . Anyway this and recoilless automatic weapons made CoD game series veeeery easy to play.

That still isn't a programmed aim-assist but sucky hitboxes max. as in pretty much most games unfortunately(like BC2), but I've personally never had any problems with CoD hitboxes in MP. Maybe it's because I don't play games with the thought of "Well now, let's find every single negative aspect and every positive one to turn it into negative as well and then condemn it to hell".

No, but you'll notice that you just have to shoot in the general direction of someone to kill him.

And it feels cheap.

No you have to hit them, like RO. Personally I haven't seen any hitbox issues with MW and MW2.

Those are not issues, but it's easy mode.
When I played MW2 I often enough killed people that I wasn't even aiming at directly.
I wasn't talking about MW2 and didn't play it in MP either(and tbh I doubt you have), but in MW1 and WaW I've never encountered any issues like that, and I've played both of those games A LOT(though I didn't do 5 prestige levels like some freaks do).

Oh I did play MW2 MP quite a bit, at last 10-15 hours in total, and the hitboxes in MW1 and WaW were not as huge due to them having dedicated servers.

This. Modern Warfare hitboxes were decent. Modern Warfare 2 hitboxes are laughable at best. If the final kill is with a gun, watch the retard's aim be literally everywhere but on the physical person and still land the kill.

That doesn't rule out the high probability of the dev's being too lazy to change the game after porting it to the PC.

Treyarch made WaW with half the company and a nasty crunch. This time they have had the resource they wanted and thrown the entire company at Black Ops. It's going to destroy MW2. Maybe then people will pull their heads out of Ward and Zampellas backsides and realise they were just a couple of loud mouthed egos who had no original ideas and just copied the same game over and over again ever since they were with EA.

But weren't Treyarch assholes too?

I remember years ago, some devs talking about CoD:WaW, and how it was superior to all other WW2 shooters: "It's in a completely different league" or something like that they said.

What I don't understand is why CoD is successful or people get even remotely interested in such generic shooters.

See what I did there? Understand why I did it?

not rly, and RO is not slow paced, well it had a somewhat faster pace in RO:CA (which I preferred), but still, why wouldn't they be interested in a good and different, realistic shooter and they are interested in a generic unrealistic shooter instead?

Realism = immersion = stronger game experience. A realistic game is never a bad thing.

...Is like dropping freelancer to go play space invaders again.

I really don't see what you did there ><
