Because rolled up sleeves are cooler than non-rolled up sleeves. They expose their manly Natzee-muscles which feel no cold. You can count on them having rolled up sleeves in Stalingrad as well.

Did you never stand in the rain with a normal long shirt or sweater? Then you might notice that the water goes through after few min unless he's wearing a jacket made out of metal. Especcially as it seems to be heavily raining on the screens above.

They whine about box arts, rolled up sleeves and too intact reichstags in every game that isn't RO, except RO does many of these things very similar (intact Reichstag, lame box art...). Let them hate stuff, if they got nothing better to do. They're just silly like that.

I've seen alot of combat photographs that have German infantry with their sleeves rolled up. Whether rolled sleeves fits in the current weather they are fighting in in-game is right or not is a whole different matter.



Plus it makes them look cool.
