Yep, I'm getting this error, now, too. I ran the game just fine last night, and today after Steam downloads an update I can't get the game to run any more. The beta RO runs just fine, but for whatever reason the retail version doesn't want to run. I'm running an 8800 GTS, and nothing has changed on my computer between last night and today, other than the Steam update. Any ideas?

...there must be something right about the beta files that gets the game to run right. I copied over my System folder from the beta directory, and now the game runs fine. :D Gotta love how things work like that. :D

Luke, the only difference between Retail, Beta & IR RO is the hot fix that was applied to retail.

Beta & IR are both at pre hotfix !
To the best of my knowledge....

Maybe I'll try that as well :)

Do I simply have to just replace the System folder with the one from the beta?

It's the bloody Steam update! It screwed my game too just like that :(

EDIT- AHA! Look at what I've found! If I try to start the game from RedOrchestra.exe it gives me: "This application could not be started because steam.dll could not be found. A reinstall could solve the problem"
HOWEVER this is a clean install made yesterday!
