No seriosuly. the Molotov cocktail was widely used among the red army(as far as i know) Werent there also German and russian flamethrowers? if the answers are yes are we going to see them? the fighting in stalingrad would have been perfect for these kinds of things, that is although only if its realistic like being choked to death if near fire or it spreading to flammable things. along with being a convieniant anti tank weapon. who else wants to see these flame weapons? and maybe only to vets or herose because the tk potential would be huge.

RO player: these german morons are standing right by the windows lol ima throwing a cocktail

RO player ___} Hero guy 1

Ro player ____} vet 1

RO player ____} hero guy2

RO player ____} kitten bundle

RO player oops sorry guys. Hey wait i see some actual germans. why is the marker on the map blinking?

As far as I remember there have yet been some discussions on flamethrowers. First of all I guess it's a bit of a balancing question and secondly you'll need "human torches" animations. The second part would be nice to have anyway as it looks a bit of strange that people run into fire on maps and just get killed sometimes even (ridiculously) lose limbs. But they don't look burned at all. I believe it's a thing which should be added as it's on the same level of brutality with bodyparts flying around and it would really add to the game's atmosphere if they start burning and look burned after death.

You can take a look at left for dead if you want to see animations of burning people ( zombies in l4d )

I don't think it would be too hard to put in the game.. i may be wrong, it's just my own opinion.

Unfortunately, i didnt found a video to show it well

Flamethrowers were so rare in the Eastern campaign it is not even worth putting into the game. It would be more unrealistic to see it then realistic, to be frank. As far as molotov cocktails, I am not really sure.

Perhaps they might be relatively rare in the eastern front campaign overall but they seemed to play an important role in stalingrad. Beside the famous fighting in the sewers of the city where flame-throwers were used, they were used in other important battles like the one for pavlov's house. Even the wikipedia page (for what its worth) for flame-throwers speaks specifically about Stalingrad.

At least for me, when I think of flame-throwers I think of Stalingrad. They might have still been relatively rare, but I don't think every map should have a flamethrower and there probably shouldnt be more than 1 of those things per team. Remember that some other rare weapons like the AVT40 will be making it in game as well.

I'll take your word on it, but flame throwers in games are usually underpowered = uselss, or over powered.

i think a flame thrower should be pretty strong but primarily very low on fuel. You can only use it for a few seconds and you do not carry any additional fuel with you beside the initial fuel. So after its empty you cannot reload or anything and would just have to dump it.

And even if the range is realistic remember the range of other weapons will be realistic as well. Next to that a flame gathers a lot more attention than even the tracers of mgs.

There is already a thread specifically about flamethrowers that I created several months ago. A lot of good information and resources there, I suggest you add any further comments to it for organization's sake.
