mm... pretty sure a 6 player hard scrake will rush up and hit me before i can kill it with a bullpup unless he enrage at a rather long distance.

"the spot" only deal 10% more damage while using bullpup (or almost any weapon and perk for that matter - except xbow, winchesterr, shotgun and/or the sharpshooter perk)...

...so - when fighting scrake - most of the time it is just better to go for guaranteed bodyshots instead of the more risky head shots (missing one single bullet "cost" you the extra damage of 10 bullets in "the spot").

Well now with the update...

Well now with the update...

Well now taking down Scrakes seems to be a piece of cake with the Bullpup+AK-47+Katana combo. ^^

On what difficulty?

Hard. Haven't tried Suicidal yet, but the AK does ALOT more damage than the Bullpup. It takes 5 body shots to take down a clot on Hard mode on Solo with the Bullpup, but it only takes 3 shots from the AK-47 to down that same clot with bodyshots. And given that you can take a Scrake to a bit less than 1/2 hp with a full clip of Bullpup, add the AK to that and you've got some good damage.

Note: All this was done with a level 5 Commando perk.

You can't carry all three weapons as a commando.

Bullpup and AK47 each take 6 blocks = 13 Used and 2 left. (1/15 is always filled.)

Katana takes 3 blocks.

I find out that a semi-auto bullpup + full auto ak is a pretty good combo. I use the bullpup most the time, for accurately head shoot, and switch to AK when things got nastier.
A bit off topic but anyone know where's the banner "the right way is horizon" something. I remember seeing it at the announcement of Heavy metal, but I cant find it in the real map.

16/15kg. Don't think you actually tried that combination in-game. ^^

AK47 have much higher recoil and 25% less ammo per clip. I actually find bullpup to be the better of the two for the play style I have (mostly headshot decapitations).

For early waves I will only pack a bullpup (7/15kg).

For later waves I will pack either
- only a bullpup (7/15kg) - and just let my party deal with scrakes
- bullpup and Katana (10/15kg). Katana to body-block fleshpounds and killing scrakes - bullpup for everything else.
- bullpup and AK47 (13/15kg). 870 bullets of spray n pray.

Right now Bullpup + Katana seems like a winner for me when going hard/suicidal (but first i have to test if katana can perma-stun a six player suicidal scrake as a non-berserker)

In hard, the primary fire is enough for stunning, so...

suicidal scrake have quite alot more HP though...... (i think the if-you-can-stun or not depend on your damage done compared to his total hp. for exampl - level 5 sharpshooter can stun him in melee range with handcannons, level 4 can not).

I prefer the AK47+Dual Handcannons+Katana combo at the moment, I don't think I'll be using the Bullpup again unless I pick it up early on in the game.

I use the bullpup + AK myself. Bullpup for the trash zeds (everything short of a scrake of FP, basically), AK for the big boys. Saves ammo.

Though sometimes I do just spray an entire AK mag into a horde whilst cackling gleefully because goddamn that's fun. :D

Yea, made a mistake on that one, meant Bullpup+AK...reason I said Bullpup+AK+Katana, was because I got glitched when in my game, so I was a support specialist (no choice, game forced it on me), but I had for some reason Level 5 Commando pricing for my AK and Bullpup, so I didn't really notice until after I posted the post here, (also posted one on commando guide, and edited that one, forgot to edit this one). My bad.

Do Bullpup reload faster (compared to AK47)...?

...it sure feels that way.

Yes. Yes yes yes. If you try them both without the commando perk, it's much easier to notice. In fact, that was one of the first things I noticed when I first tried the AK.

I useally go L80, 9mm and Katana.

I usally good enough to take out scrakes with my katana, The only thing I really have to watch for is getting swamped by the small fry while fighting the scrake. Why before I start I try shooting things behind it to clear the threat level to ggive enough time to engage the scrake in melee combat. As for FP, I try and get in early pop off the head with the Katana. I try put myself infront of it and its current target. If its going for me, I try taking its head off faster <.<.

Oh and I play Hard and Suisidal, I stopped playing Normal long ago.

Thanks - that (and the fact you got more bullets per clip) explains why I seem to take less damage when I use bullpup :D
