Their accents are the **** as are their funny lil expressions like "muppet" and "bollocks". They also have the greatest comedians in history... Monty Python alone is justification for that title.

This is a thread to show them the praise they deserve.

Just arrived back in Austria after being in the UK for half a year (Gloucester).
I can certainly say, that, yes, the accents definately are awesome.

Unfortunately I got a Gloucestershire accent now. :(

*blushes*

Thanks for saying such nice things. :D

To be honest, I don't understand why some Americans seem to like accents from these countries so much. For example, I tried out Omegle out of boredom and whilst on the mic, my Worcestershire accent made me "instantly 10 times hotter"

Is it because we're so foreign and interesting, or does it just sound so smart and sophisticated?

Dunno - I reckon Tony Hayward is doing his level best to destroy all the kudos a Brit accent can get you.

I remember when I went to Chicago at the tender age of 23 - all the wimmins seemed to think I was Jeremy Irons or something, all visual evidence notwithstanding.

Genetic diversity mate, our species has lived the vast majority of it's life in small settlements, from tribes to small villages and isolated farmsteads, Genetic diversity has been a rare and precious commodity for most of our history, so we're hardcoded to find it attractive, and nothing says "i'm not from around here and am bursting with with fresh genetic material" like an accent.

And it works for any accent, even us Danes when we try to speak English, hell knows it usually doesen't sound pretty, but chicks find it cute/exotic, and it emmediately raises our retail value on the meat market.
