Sound British Weapon Sounds

If anyone here has a decent sound rig and can get hold of the British weapons, I would be very interested in discussing you joining the Burning Sands team to record weapon sounds.

Damn I'd love to help but I just don't have any good recording gear, I have a few muso friends though who do their own recording so I'll see if I can get something together.

Can you capture audio from video? I have yet to film my Enfield but I will next Sat.

The mic from my computer picks up sound pretty well but I don't know if thats high enough quality. I've never recorded a rifle with it but here is a recording I made of my truck with it.

no that kind of recording is NOT suitable for in game audio, but IS useable as a reference.

If you are interested in helping you will need very good audio recording gear, PM or e-mail me if you can seriously help

I have access to an SMLE No.1MkIII, No.4MkI, KAR98 and maybe a Webley (older .44 though).

I am still trying to get a hold of my friend and his gear I will let you know exactly what type of gear it is and if I can get access to it as soon as I know.

Another way to get a hold of some of the heavier stuff would be to get in contact with Aussie WW2 re-enactment groups, thats how Im trying to acquire the weapon sounds we need, though its been meeting some friction atm.
