Bringing a custom map (Doom) from KF into KF2

Hey dudes,

Is there some way to convert maps? I'm not really experienced with UDK so yeah...

Doom is the map I'm talking about, I'm sure some of you have played it.

Idk but I do hope that people star converting/recreating certain KF1 maps, especially the simpler ones like Doom, original Biotics lab, West London, and Mountain Pass

Basically take the map, remove everything but the brushes (the orange and blue wireframes) and export the map as a .t3d file. Import it and match the lighting and textures.

KF1 and KF2 use different sizing, is there a way to scale the entire level (bsp) with some magic number to make it correlate with KF2 proportions?

That's what I'm wondering, too. I just want to 'optimize' this map for KF2 and not have to rework the entire thing.

I think whoever brings the Doom map to KF2 should suffer the pain of "reworking" the entire thing, among other punishments that shall go unspoken on here...

I think the map awful and dull, used to funnel mobs into one area to farm a park up.

Except since there was only really two places you could funnel without getting wrecked, it was pretty balanced.

And the Patriarch would already wreck your spit, since there was nowhere to hide...

Please bring back doom. Probably played it the most of any map. And my perks were already leveled when I started playing on it :p

If it's that remake of e1m1 for KF1, then I'd like to see it ported over, but with more stuff added, like recreating that secret path in the nukage pool that you have to run to after triggering the linedef.

Yeah Doom 1's e1m1 is better than Doom 2's e1m1 by a large margin.
More areas, more interesting design and more secrets! BUT YOU MUST have the music track. Super iconicness extreme!

yeah just select all and go to the scale tool and just make it bigger, i'm converting an old ki map and it did the trick for me, the only thing i don't know how to do is light the damn thing since i'm just learning the new udk. Is there a simple way to add an ambient light?

I know that dominant directional light acts as a sun/moon of sorts.
