Bring Back Online Bots

Why did they even get rid of this in the first place? My buddy and I always just **** around with each other on RO2 just killing bots and each other. We both bought this game so we could do the same thing just with Vietnam era weapons and such. We're not in it for competitive play, winning, or anything like that. We just want to have fun together. Is there any way we can do that without having to worry about randos?

You can spawn bots with console commands, but they were removed from the menu in the title as they are not supported and not in a state were we feel they should be judged as part of the game.

Is there a way to do it so that my friend can join me as well? We live in different states so LAN isn't possible.

Setting up a small mutator to enable it on a server would work, but to my knowledge nobody has had interest in making that mutator.
