your ideas will unbalance the map to hell and back. The damn map was fine minus the closer spawns...

recon plane is not needed, its a a cheaty "gimmick" noon needed before ro2.

no need for more sappers, they just need to do their job

more tanks ? = worst suggestion so far

snipers are fine, the defending sniper always comes out with more kills

another way to destroy a nice map....
Hold on a second- do you agree (or rather, admit) that the map is unbalanced in its current state?

Don't give me the "Oh I have won it many times" crap. I have won it too before the MCP version as Russians.

Have you ever won as Russians on the MCP version of Bridges?

Do you have any suggestions to help balance the map? I can't seem to find them.

Blacklabel and Randy

Map is already interesting. Ok. But map can become more interresting in another way. I think it's possible : I imagine Germans holding position against a real Russian storm.
Why you hate recon airplane ? It's one of weapons of TL. (or give recon airplane ONLY to Russian TL...But it will be unfair for Germans.)
More russian sapers and more german sapers will make this map a hell.
2-3 T 34 would be welcome in this idea. Blacklabel I understand you love the map as the map is already. But 2-4 T34 will make this map better. Really more better...

"Heavy Bridge of Druzhina" can be interresting !

Ill bite on the drone...I mean recon plane. Is a cheapo gimmick that allows people to not develop situational awareness. Also allows less teamwork as now you can deploy your drone...I mean recon plane to precisely kill every damned thing with arty. Where as without such precision could ONLY happen if someone had eyes ON and was talking. It promotes less team work, less realism and is a cave in to the reality of average newer gamer. That is they expect this crap and they often refuse to learn or develop "battlefield survival skills". In the end I personally feel another game mod to muddle the waters somewhere between classic and "realistic" for the real virtual warrior. Classic seems to be well and dead and some sort of mutant bastard child would be welcome IMO.

I would also LOVE to see and may SOMEDAY play around with in RO2......real world satellite data created maps of historical battle fields. Alas public free data is only accurate to 3 meter elevation so you have to get all artist on it too. Less focus on cherry making "balanced maps and MORE real". Bridges (first bit) sort of proves something like this could work. I hope that makes sense...makes sense to me. :D

Flashburn,
Recon airplane is a weapon in the hand of TL, as respawn on SL is a weapon in the hand of SL. Respawn on SL represent moral factor inside the battle. Recon airplane represent cooperation betwen airforce and army : It's not so unrealist as you said. Your opinion of RO 2 work with an individual way of playing. RO 2 with realism mode can - by several factors - give us another way to play than individual way : as a real army way. In classic mode, you think you play as soldier but you play only as player. In realism mode, you have several weapons who help you to play as a real army. Don't kill so quickly realism mode...Flashburn, Can you understand there is ANOTHER way to play than in classic mode way ? Understand the reason why people of any kind play to realism mode, but don't say realism mode is playing only by casuals.

Someone who doesn't understand respawn on SL inside RO 2 doesn't understand what is "moral factor" inside battle and what is chaos of war. As the same way : Someone who doesn't understand recon airplaine inside RO 2 doesn't understand what is cooperation betwen airforce and army. A TL is not just a soldier with a cap, Dude...He has several weapons. Recon airplane is only one of theses weapons TL need to use in the goal to serve his army and his men.

We hope to have an update out today to address the balance issues of Bridges and Coldsteel.

Another T34 for Bridges ? ;)

ro2player, you can explain spawn on SL over and over (and over and over... :p ) in this and other posts. Some people like it, some people don't, and some think it would be ok if they limited where you spawn. It has nothing to do why TWI put it in the game. Its just their opinion and its unlikely you will change it.

Moe,
A part of problem (if you want talk about respawn on SL) it's more the Sl himself or the soldier himself than respawn on SL who create problems. :D

Sorry Moe but i defend TL AND SL ;) not only TL or not only SL...

Opinion : better way to give people the "unrigth" to talk freely.
OH NO ! it's a opinion ! DOCTOR ! :D :D

It's not to me to judge but only to say. If you say i don't have the rigth to judge : i say i am agree with you. If you say i don't have the rigth to say : Dude...sorry i am not agree with you.

I think you mean (i hope, Moe) the first kind of problem. So i am ok with you.

Remenber something look like moral factor is not based on the battle betwen opinion. No : It's based on the will to show and remenber respawn on SL mean first "moral factor" and who is an important thing we can see directly inside battle...(because for me it's an important thing there is a "moral factor" during the battle).

I don't care about people for which "moral factor" is not important or shouldn't be present inside battle. It's what i call an ERROR.

Maybe this spectacle of respawn on SL representing "moral factor" make you unhappy or happy. This is not my question. My question is : moral factor is really present inside the battle by the action of respawn on SL.

Moe, only arguments can me make love the battle betwen opinions. I prefer arguments to opinions. People change or not their mind is not my problem. Bad way to talk i think. See good arguments, this is what is interresting.

So now, Moe, Let's talk about bridges problem :)

Its their game and it clearly works. While I do not like the recon plane as it somehow spots everything even if infantry are not visible. I think an current accessible feature for average player is expected and helpful I guess. For experienced virtual warrior (TM) its lame sauce. :D Spawn on SL adds another layer to game but perhaps a bit less SPAWNIE would be nice. I just think perhaps a harder realistic optional mod or something. Or like I love to say a TE/classic mutant bastard child.

ok played a couple rounds of the new bridges. A and B fall real fast now. I guess the cover is more in your face for people who do not see ditches for the wonderfulness they are. Map still requires team work for C, D , E. Which alas was missing in my 2 rounds of it per usual. Some days the teamwork is there and some days it is not. But looks like ALOT of tickets for the map IMO.

Which is more like it was back when Harley released his last beta. It worked quite well, it's a long map so it needs more tickets (it's about twice the length of TWI maps, so double the tickets is ok).

I do like it when the cap is moving, not held up. There's enough objectives for it to flow and yet still have the Germans win.

Yep, that was one of the last minute changes TW decided to make. I had no idea until I played it myself online with everyone else. I'm shocked they would take my map that was working great and change it at the last minute without telling me or play testing it thoroughly.

And so the Axis-biased nature of TWI is confirmed. I'm ashamed of you guys.

If in the latest patch TWI didn't make all objectives locked once captured by the Allies they really missed the most obvious change.

Personally I think they could have done even more, not give Axis more reinforcements and also make D+E lock after cap. Just had a round of complete stalemate, axis retaking D just as allies take E, and back again. Who thinks that is fun???

It's not fun. Anyone of moderate intelligence can see that. All objectives should lock on ALL maps once captured. This includes Commissar's House, Red October Factory, and Rakowice. How can TWI be so short sighted on this?!

Definitely one of the maps strongest features is its ability to flow. Even if objectives fall like dominoes there are enough of them to keep action and interest going to the end. Anyone who has struggled for that final bridge objective as the timer winds down or reinforcements deplete can appreciate this.

Won a round before the changes after a long time (although allies were far better) and then lost a round after the patch. Increased reinforcements are great, not so sure about the larger A&B cap zones.

I somehow like maps like this or most DH maps where they started from an open field and ended up in house to house combat. No need to shorten the first part of the map, just maybe make it easier to move past it by locking the objectives. After all, as said before, it's the toughness of the first objectives that make it all the more awesome when you finally reach the town...

But overall, the increased reinforcements are more than welcome!

I would stop playing if that happened. Recapturing a point is a huge part of the game for both sides.
Its some of the most fun and intense parts of a battle.
