Ill Steam it. As cool as the box looks, I dont care to buy physical media for my PC these days unless ABSOLUTELY necessary
Box version, definitely. As a plus, I won't have to cope with my crappy download speed on a game's release day. I just hope it gets over here in time. :C
Make sure you have a good internet if you want steamalso just to point out the game wont release in retail until after its been released on steam
I think I'll most probably buy the box. For one reason.
Thousands of people will buy this on steam on the first day. So it will take around 8 hours to actually install the game?
Hopefully they do what they did with Shogun 2 and by getting the CD even though you still install with steam it only takes around 30 minutes.
That's right, so I'm gonna see about ordering it online! I've pre-ordered games on disc before, and I often get my copy like 3 days before it's actually released.
But with Steam, I still have to wait a couple of days before I can actually start playing.![]()
Yes Steam's download system has been causing me major grief lately too. All the more reason to buy it retail if possible.Bad experiences in the past with Steam download - fuhgeddaboutit! I'm going to Gamestop..
My concerns are founded on recent experience, not past ones. Over the last two months or so I've been having lots of problems with downloads suddenly stopping for no apparently reason, or going from like 1-2 mp/s download speeds way down to 100 kb/s. It's taken me days just to download some of my games because of these issues.Everybody is saying that the release of the game on Steam is going to be a pain because the speed is low.
That's bull. Even on big releases I download with at least 1mb/s. On normal days I easily get to 3.mb/s.
The big problem is getting the game to actually start, since with most big releases you can't play for at least half an hour after downloading, because of all the servers being out of whack. The boxed problem will have this trouble too.
Besides,
All this was probably true of Steam 3 years ago. The past few years Steam has really improved it's stability during big releases.
