Thanx Murph I put alot of hours into the first one, kinda got repetitive after the first play through but playing co-op was awesome and really the only way to play.

I played a lot of Borderlands so I suppose I was a fan. Got to the point after the first playthrough though where it didn't deliver on the long-term replayability. Diablo it was not.

Still, if they can address the shooting and hit detection, the totally broken MP quest system and maybe move away from some less assy looking cell-shading, I may decide the sequel is worth a try.

I wonder if it'll have the original characters plus new ones, or if they will all be new.

I would miss Lilith, I like her a lot. =(

the totally broken MP quest system
Aw man, yes, please.

Not only was this more than uncomfortable and buggy under normal circumstances, I used to play with buddies who had more ram than me and every time we switched level I took longer to load (not even a lot, btw) so the game kicked me out and I had to rejoin. Annoying as it is already, this meant I wasn't on board with the quests anymore!
For a game whose strong point is supposed to be coop, the technical side of multiplayer was surprisingly bad.

I played it mostly on the xbox with my brother in splitscreen though, so it didn't bother me that much, but still...

Judging from the mock-up screenshot on the website I highly doubt the look is going to change.
Personally, I loved it, but I know people who didn't.

I don't even mind cell-shading per se. It's just something they did in Borderlands made my eyes hurt, and the constant orange-yellow lighting of the game made me feel sun burnt. So maybe they actually pulled off an atmospheric goal with genius. I've only played a few games though where the visuals are what I'd described as unpleasant. BL would be one.

I like how you can pre-order without having seen even a single screenshot or piece of info. :D

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Borderlands, so I'll most likely get this too.

I can only hope they fix all the things wrong with the first one.

I.E. It feels like a console port, no dediserv, ****ty hitboxes, can't join via steam alone, things like that.

Maybe make each area randomly generated, like the game Hellgate:London was, that was a good game that did randomised areas right.

I really liked playing co-op with my friends, and i hope that the great co-op is a fixture of the BL series.

Addicting for 20 hours then zzzzz, partially because I couldn't figure out how to get to a location that it was telling me to go to for the main quest. And I know about the ending, just...stupid. And expected, really. And the misleading hype about the weapons...goodness, can't believe I fell for that. Hope they don't try to use that again.

here to kill your monster
played lilith and tbh she started to annoy me but i liked her use of elemental weapons (though this almost gave her too many wep options and it became a headache)
yes the ending was a disappointment - more so my subsequent corrruption of saves immediately following completion.

But i look back on borderlands fondly and would certainly buy the 2nd - once i've got round to playing the 4 addons i bought for the first one thou.

Ending? I don't--

OH GOD! I REMEMBER! NNNUUUUUUUUUU.

I have to say, that's one part of the game that holds no appeal for me. I could care less where the store goes, because they're clearly not that concerned about it :p

The whole snow part leading up to the ending too. No more traders, no more quests, no more freedom. Just fighting through the linear end-game levels, your inventory chock-full of loot so you can't even pick up more and then the ridiculous boss that's not even fun to fight.
Just ditching that whole episode and making it a cliffhanger ending would have been better than that.

Meh, I'll probably pick this one up on Steam sale. The first was decent, but after you see all the content, the gameplay isn't really satisfying or addictive enough to keep at it. I did like Borderlands' sense of humor, though, and I didn't mind the crappy final boss because I don't think it's the sort of game you play for story and depth.

Didn't really get warm with Borderlands 1 because a) it ran ****ty on AMD gfx cards b) hardly any voiced dialogue. From what I read in that announcement description it seems more like a Borderlines 1.5. So pretty much what almost every sequel ends up being nowadays.

Hmm, i had some fun with the first one, despite some of it's problems and the ported nature of it, but at some point, it just died on me, from one minute to the next i went from enjoying myself, to asking myself why i was playing this boring snoozefest.. not sure why, but suddenly, i just stopped having fun, and it was a really jarring and sudden shift.

I hope they up their game with this one, because Borderlands was a good game at it's core, like i said, i did have a lot of fun houers playing it, but it was also repetitive, something about the progression just didn't work, the combat got pretty grindy and dull, and it certainly didn't offer a story worth playing it for.

If they could improve on thease things for the sequal, and hopefully give the PC version some more love this time, then i could see this becomming a good game.

If it's exactly the same game however, just with new characters in a different setting, but otherwise the same deal, then i doubt it'd be worth much to me.

I've played a lot in Borderlands. Fun coop game, had a lot of fun with friends however game suffered a lot being a multiplatform: Lack advanced settings (e.g. FOV, AA, mouse smoothing/acceleration) available from game menu, lack dedicated servers, expensive DLCs and specific graphic/artstyle that caused headaches many times.

Also as Grobut said, after some time game turned from entertaining game into snoozefest, even when playing with friends... so game died after few weeks. Not good when I could play months and still have fun in other coop games like Killing Floor or ArmA 2.

Just picked it up in the summer sale of steam and playing with some firends..

Really awesome game. Has it's flaws, but (for me) no gamebreaking ones.
Only the constant need to reset the fov afetr sprinting and driving is a pain:eek:
