Was watching the voodoo extreme part 2 vid, and i noticed (just like other viewers) the loudness of the body hit when you shoot someone, i hope this is a temporary sound, because this way, it does not sounds realistic at all.

Here is a good example:

(click link, will bring you to the exact moment).

Body hits are rarely heard in real life, so why in a realistic game as RO2?

They could be just place-holders. But yeah, those are really loud.

Sounds like a personal hit sound. Like you hear in Quake and such.

Just done up a bit so it doesn't sound too out of place.

Might be a relaxed realism mode feature.

Being hit sohuld be noisy, but not to the person firing the gun.. any impact sounds with the exception of metal would probably not be heard by the person firing the gun. If you are a ways away from the gunshot, then I'd imagine the flesh impact sound would make a considerable amount of noise.

I agree. I guess the DEVs are just testing stuff to see how we react to it. Hope the noise wont be as loud, atleast for the shooter.

when im hunting i tell if i hit the deer by 4 things.

1. it drops dead
2. it runs funny
3. its so close if i missed i should just kill my self right there.

and the important one...the sound of the impact.

hitting the chest of a deer with any 30 cal weapon make a nice WAP sound.

in the gut its even louder. its not like BOOM WAP, but you can hear it!

however, if your standing next to some one, and the gun is fired a ways away (cant heat the shot before the bullet gets to you at range) then you will hear the WAP!

i watched that video, i thought thows were a little loud, but maybe a low velocity blunt round like a pistol round would make louder WAPs

Flesh getting hit is mostly a muffled noise because what mostly gets hit is clothing. Not many movies gets it right as well, they like to go for the big sound, i think The Pacific had some good sound effects when it comes to bullet hits.

Those sure are loud, but its still a beta they have time to correct all, only thing i want them to do is make it so you see weapon models & hands in 1st person spectator mode & your recorded demos, if that happens, i will be happy.
