At first, way before playing the beta, I tought that the bandage-action was about to have a nice animation. Like this one (only THE FIVE FIRST SECONDS, the following is pure rambo craps) :

Far Cry 2 - Healing Animations - YouTube

That could be way more immersive. But for that, we need to be able to see our own legs and body in the game (body awareness).

Well, I was so disappointed to see that bandaging was only a "stop ! Staring ! gogogo !" method. No animation, no immersion, just wait for the invisible man to bandage you.

What do you think, gentlemen ?

Hell yeah. Just make it around 10 seconds long and RO bandaging would be awesome.

I expect to see something similar to this in the first update...

Well, 10 seconds seems a bit long IMO, more like between 2 and 5 depending on the gravity of the injuries.

Animations for arms and legs = 3 seconds

Animations for chest/guts = 5 seconds

Because being wounded is pretty usual in the game, 10 seconds would be quicly boring.

BUT seriously, adding a bandage feature without using it for an immersive animated experience, it's pretty pointless.

This animation stuff could also show some pretty bad injuries (client side, only for the injured player), emphazing the "kill or get killed" ambiance of RO.

And no big deal if the bandage disapeared the next time we see our arm.

We really need some dev explanation here. ;)

I see the point there OP,animation like this are cool and should take good 10 sec. But in the current state the game is with bleeding bandaging will be usless, you bleed out fast...In order this to work bleed out should be given a little slack.

Vote yes for >10 sec bandaging. Some animation would be good of cource.
I also wish wounds would have more affect. You shouldn't be running after shot in the leg. Unless you are also taking some ninja-2 second-morphine shot. ;)

Currently I feel all the wounds are next to meaningless. Does not affect gameplay.

Pulling the bullet out is not so wise in the middle of battlefield, cuz often, if the bullet is still there, it stops some major bleeding.

And come on, pulling a bullet out by ourself, that's too Rambo-ish.

Just bandaging arms/legs, but no idea about an intelligent one for chest / abdomen wounds.

And I still believe that 10 seconds is still too long. Realistic yes, but it's gonna be annoying really quickly.

5 secs to bandage leg/arm injuries, 7-9 secs for more serious injuries.

This idea is not like recreating the whole game, or adding something brand new. It's just about giving a proper presence to an existing feature. An immersive role. The role that it deserves, IMHO.

This feature enhancement would be awesome on the frontline. Bump this if you agree. :D

I was actually hoping an animated bandaging feature would be implemented before we got our hands on the Beta. It didn't need to be complicated, just a packet being ripped in view then being applied out of view - that would have been enough.

As it stands it's not great, there's not much wrong with the healing system just I'm slightly disappointed to see a lack of detail in some areas. Taking a second or two to heal is also a bit disappointing, I think it should be between 3-8 seconds depending on the wound - just to make it a bit more of a penalty.

I for one would like to have this. I was kind of surprised that there wasn't full body awareness in RO2.

Implementing animations for the bandaging would be a really nice immersive touch plus it would also help to indicate and give better visual awareness that you are in the process of bandaging yourself up.
