I'd also like to see more particle effects, and find those more important than "blood splatter" which does happen. The reason why it does is because the kinetic energy of a bullet and the pressure it creates in the tissues. But I just think it would be awesome to be inside a building while someone is firing into it and having dust and particles flying everywhere. If dirt and etc obscured your view then covering fire would actually be effective.

I think 3 different types of ammo need to be distinguished here.

Pistol rounds, rifle rounds, and 50 cal and upwards anti vehiche ammo.
The latter will rip a man in half and take off arms and legs. So lots of instant blood and gore.
Yes rifle rounds, if they exit, due to thier high velocity, and if you happen to be standing right next to a wall, will leave blood splatter. Head shots, neck shots, and shots that slice through a major artery will "spray" as it were. However even most high power rifle rounds will just leave a hole, followed by alot of blood pooling.
Pistol rounds even less so.
Just my 2 cents.

Not True. Blood splatter does happen. If you're standing close to someone and shoot them with a pistol, you'll get blood splatter on you. This is exactly why forensics have people who analyze blood splatter. There are a lot of variables, like bullet yaw, etc. But blood splatter happens extremely quickly and is caused by the pressure of the bullet entering the body. Do you honestly think that if you shoot someone absolutely no blood splatters out of the wound and just slowly oozes out? The degree that it splatters is based on a plethora of variables, not just the type of weapon or the caliber of round.

From 20mm? Is it on liveleak?
Forget liveleak...go to Apacheclips.com...type 20 mike mike into the search engine. Plenty of vids with nothing but torso's left.
Also tell Johncage to go jump in a river.
He's not worth responding to personally.

Gotta love how the guys just let him sit there and bleed to death from a gunshot wound to the thigh.

What an outrageous group of people.

I'd ask them to shoot me again if they were just planning on leaving me there. Some people are so disgusting.

Well. I'm rather shocked, but it's not the first time I've seen a man get shot.

Hate to be discussing something like this.. but at around 0.20 seconds, when he stands up, you can see a large amount of blood spill from his leg wound onto the ground.

Your guys' fascination with blood effects is a little disturbing... it's not like it makes or breaks the game.

Want to talk about disturbing fascination? There are people who watch movies like SAW or play games like L4D2/Gears of War just to stare at the gore of a human body being horrifically strewn apart. And then there are people who watch movies like SAW just to hear people screaming horrifically for hours.

Both are sick and perhaps mentally unstable.

I completely agree. I haven't seen SAW, and never plan on it because things like that make me queasy. I play both L4D2 and Gears, but not because of the violence. Violence in video games isn't as bad as movies, because you can easily tell that it's fake.

I admit I have not checked if this has been posted about before, but I want to make the suggestion anyway.

Blood on this game should be realistic, when you shoot someone, you should not see any blood, unless the bullet has pierced the body or ripped a chunk out of it. Blood on the ground should splatter from explosions and the above mentioned bullet injuries. A corpse which has been shot should leak blood onto the ground into a pool, but very slowly. Not like in GTA or Red Dead Redmption where a body instantly starts floating in a paddling pool of cherryade.

Gore is separate from this, so I will ignore it here.

Blood should also be red. Blood red, and reflective.
If person is mortally wounded (heart still beating) and major arteries are cut blood can leak out very, very fast.

edit: Damn, should have read the thread before posting. Someone already posted that Paki-tape I was thinking about.

He didn't bleed out very fast.... I feel sorry for him on a large number of levels, one of which is how long he suffered.

I too, have avoided such "murder fest" movies. Just the idea of why someone would make films like that makes me sick. I also love playing L4D2 for the gameplay, and I used to play GoW several months ago, but I know there are "kids" who go around begging for even more gore than that.

As long as you don't relish in the destruction of your fellow man, you can play games and watch graphic movies. But some movies are designed just for that purpose: some people just love the "gross out" and that just shows how mainstream media today is going straight down the drain.
