hey guys, i was just thinking, because there will be a "bleed out system" then maybe your clothes could be soaked with blood as more and more blood comes out? for instance if ur shot in the arm and didnt bandage it (or how ever the devs want to do it) then because the bleedinghasnt been stopped or w.e. more blood comes out and makes ur sleeve red. ofcourse i would want this in a realistic way so if im shot in the wrist the blood doesnt magically go all the way up to the shoulder but u get my drift. Also maybe dripping blood? blood trails left by bleeding players? not too obvious where anyone can say LOOK BLOOD LEADS TO HERE but something that is hard to spot (like in real life). just some thoughts. - skittles

tracking trails of blood would definately make the 1 on 1 combat that sometimes occurs in RO more interesting.

Also, theres potential for smarter gaming.

Say you get shot in the arm, you start bleeding, so you run into a house for cover. You go into one room, bandage yourself, then go hide in another room and wait for whoever shot you to follow the blood, then shoot them in the back.

there are trails of blood in RO:Ost

if you get shot/stabbed you still bleed a bit afterwards, wich also leaves small marks on the ground

Yes, there are already blood trails in the current version of Red Orchestra. They are not significant, but they exist. I do agree though that stains on the uniforms would be a good idea as it could provide an idea of how the character died whether it was a headshot from a rifle or an unfortunate encounter with a PPSh.

i wouldnt even call them trails they are just some dots that appear in a circular formation its not of any tactical use at all and definatly not what im talking about, im talking about blood smearing on to walls (ex ur arm is bloody and ur runny against a wall with ur arm touching it) and also real looking blood trails not those dots. and besides the blood dots are just for added gore. its not TRAILS. well actually i guess they would be "trails" but they dont lead anywhere because they appear randomly and are very short so it would lead u anywhere, besides that it wasnt THAT realstic either as oppose to what im talking about. and just another suggestion, how about pools of blood like from a dead bleeding (depending how bad the wound is) person and if u step in it there are footprints that gradualyl wear off *** u walk or soemthing. also how about open wounds EX: in RO limbs came off adn u were coverd in blood, wel lhow about that but also there could be ur sternum ripped open and u can partially see the lungs and stuff (wow i feel like a twisted person right now)

well you dont really bleed much if you arnt shot in some artery or a vital area as the stomache

i dont see a way this could actually work...

1st: we have bandaging in RO:HoS
2nd: when you bleed enough to leave a steady trail of blood you are allready doomed to death in most cases
3rd: it would also be random if you would leave marks behind, scince you will only touch a wall now and then, and it would be verry unrealistic to bleed that much to leave a steady stream of blood at the ground

This reminds me of the massacre mod for CoD 2. Honestly next thing is that your hand or foot can be blown off and you see a "broken end" at their position as you're still living.

It's a nice idea, but I guess we will have, next to limbs, guts flying around and enough opened stomachs and brains creeping out for several visits to the toilet in order to barf your breakfast and lunch together. I don't see the need of blood soaked sleeves. :D

In my opinion too much gore effects makes the game boring and unattractive.

I've read The Forgotten Soldier. War is disgusting and brutal. If you're going for a realistic depiction of Stalingrad, gore and blood should coexist. I think OST does a fine job of it now but they should really add bullet wounds so you can see where you have been hit.

Just make it believable.

IMO, bodies should stay until the map ends. That would be realistic...we don't respawn as the same soldiers, we respawn as reinforcements.

On some maps not only would your computer melt but there would also be the added issue of not being able to wade through the piles of bodies. We are limited by technology.

Hobo is right, unnecessary violence is not necessary.

About bullet impact holes, I've no problem with this. I just don't want to see that I can shoot of limbs with single MP40 burst or bash of the head of someone with a buttstock smack. Would be insanely ridiculous. :)
