Blocking Volumes?

I am having problems properly implementing blocking volumes. Typically I am trying to set various tree lines as map boundaries. However, I am having problems with these things acting as true blocking boundaries.

Sometimes I get it right and the blocking volume and StaticMeshActor truly act together and stop vehicles and personnel from passage. Other times vehicles or personnel can pass through but they get tossed into the air while passing. I want vehicles and such to just stop at the boundary

Make sure your blocking volume is extra large.. don't try to size it to the same height.. I generally start with a 1024-2048 height depending on the terrain around where i'm blocking.

Also you might try just setting it up as a class blocker and block Engine.Pawn (or just Pawn).

The difference in how it's behaving might be you have some setup to block Karma and some not.. if you just use a class blocker you can block out what you want and still let things like bullets, grenades, and tank shells pass through.

Hey Alan:

I used to really enjoy playing Atomic's old Close Combat -- so much so that I started doing my own scenarios and maps. Unfortunately I have developed the same level of enthusiasm for RO, so I feel compelled to at least try my hand at scenario and map making. :) The SDK editor learning curve is pretty steep, but I think I am making progress.

All the best
Jeff
