For the weapon it really makes sense, but and for the rest?

That 1 million times zoom when you're not using the iron sights?

Also, why its SO easy to shoot in this game? aaaaaaaaaaa c'mon devs, what happened to our sequel.. the game feels like call of duty.. :(

Yes, it makes sense for the ironsights use. But I mean... what about when you're off them? You press shift and suddenly your eyes become binoculars??

And why shooting is so easy in this game? Devs made RO2 a call of duty. MG's are useless, you pop your head off and bang, sniped by a MP40 200m away :/

The zoom represents focusing on an object. Ever done that before? It's giving yourself some tunnel vision in order to gain clarity on a distant object.

It happens, yo.

What you should be complaining about is how every game is zoomed out which is completely opposite to the human eye. Take a rifle and run around with it. Do you see your rifle the way you see it in the games? No you don't.
When you press shift in RO2 the distance between you and everything you see in the game simulates how the real human eye judges distance, it's not telescopic in any way. The problem is, your peripheral vision is non existant in this case, that's why games have to zoom everything out in order for you to be able to actually see what's around you.

The same example I can think of in games is represented in most driving games. When you try to drive with the inside camera you are completely blind to anything around you, because peripheral vision is non existent in that case.

Aiming in RO1 was extremely difficult and far from realistic because the target which was in fact 50 meters away from you allways looked as if it was double that distance away.

No, this is not what the zoom mechanic is trying to accomplish. The zoom is there to allow players to see distant objects at the size they would appear in real life. In order to have a decent FOV on a computer monitor, the laws of perspective are fudged, the zoom mechanic is a way to see the world at true 1:1 scale. Without the zoom, distant characters and objects appear to be 1/2 scale. It is more realistic to have the ability to see objects at thier real size. Also your ability to see distant objects at thier real size is not dependant on whether or not you are aiming a weapon, so it makes sense to be able to zoom whenever you want.

I will say this, if you dont want the zoom mechanic, there should be a server side option to disable it. But to demand it be removed entirely is not the best way to go about this.

theres threads that explain this but basically you are only seeing half of what you would see with your real eye because of the monitor so they add zoom. ;)

Also, there's already a zoom when you aim on the ironsights. Thinking about this, I kinda changes my opinion where I said that I agree with this zoom in this case.

I wish that you could still adjust the non-sprint zoom. I have noticed that the standard ironsight zoom differs based on the type of weapon, pistols have the least amount of standard zoom while rifles are almost entirely zoomed by default.
