I don't want FPS games to have decent hit detection, I want them to have good hit detection. Calling BF3's hit detection decent is an overstatement.

BF2 ones were draggin behind vehicles, even more on jets.
BC1 ones were bad
BC2 ones were the worst
BF3 ones seem more decent than BC at least, but still very off target.

I don't remember for the older BFs like 1942 and Vietnam.

Because MW2 and 3 are the pinnacle of FPS gaming that every other game should be compared to, right?

Besides, the games could easily be classified as being in different FPS gaming sub genres, so comparing them in the first place is kind of meaningless.

I didn't state it was anywhere near the pinnacle of FPS gaming. It was simply used because at the moment those are pretty much the top selling FPS games around and it's also the main competitor for BF3.
