Why two different realism modes if they change just 1 or 2 UI things?

I think Realism mode could be better utilized, improving various apsects of the game as sway, damage and lo of other stuffs.... :)

I mean......it's just a great idea but bad applied ;)

The sewers of Leningrad.
Yes. I wanted to see 3D voice chat in the game bypassed only by radios and radiomen. That would be epic. Along with increased sway damage, bandaging and bleed time adjustments with having slowed and damaged limbs when bleeding/injured and not bandaged. Yadda Yadda. We've all heard it before, just some important people who can make the changes need to listen.

Yep. I think there's actually still setting somewhere in the game for it. When people asked, they simply said they couldn't get it working right and it got the axe. Whether that meant permanently....who knows.

I use to always use RO as an example of how you can have Hardcore gameplay without simply removing the HUD (when talking to players that think BFBC2 hardcore mode is "hardcore").

I'm a bit dissapointed that the only differences are UI changes. It wouldv'e been very cool to have meaningful differences between Relaxed and Realism.

So lets brainstorm about what we would like in a Hardcore setting:

1. Additional mechanics that make aiming more of a challenge. Not just more sway mind you.

2. More effects of getting shot, perhaps crippling effects. TW however have already shot down this suggestion.

3. A way to limit silly unlocks without dooming your server to the land of the unranked.

I've played realism servers that have kill cams on, so it's a valid question.

My unit runs a realism server and we haven't managed to figure out how to turn the damned thing off.

Bar that I'd love a whole lot of realism tweaks and additions to the game that can be enabled / disabled according to the server. People can either go for the releaxed CoD / BF like gameplay or a realistic gameplay. There's a ton of stuff they can do that isn't massive to appease the large realism audience that's followed this game.

Where did you hear this? The last I heard of this they removed it for reasons along " people would bypass it with 3rd party software" at which point many people facepalm'd at that logic. I would be elated if they atleast though of it, even if the game had team chat / public and 3d chat, I am sure most people would always use 3d chat as it is the only way to coordinate with people you do not know ( ie also know their voices and be able to put a voice to a gamertag )

reminds of the whole Dragon Rising fiasco, they thought that we're that stupid to think that removing a few hud elements will make the game more "hardcore"
