I must say that even with the issues that we are dealing with ingame. Red Orchestra 2 is by far the better game.
The pyschics are better, the polish is nicer and there isn't freaking tons of bloom in our face all the time.

Although I do not agree with everything that has come out of Tripwire, at least they have the common courtesy to give us a great game at a good price, rather than charge us our souls for BC2 with an HD coat of paint.

Good work Tripwire devs. :IS2:

I want to take your post seriously..........it's just that if I remember some of the things you posted a few weeks back when you were so obvioulsy disenfranchised with RO2 and TWI makes it somewhat difficult.

Having said that, I absolutely agree that RO2 is by far the better long-term value. No question.

Dude EA is not going to take your soul with BF3 aka BC2 + HD coat paint...I played BF3 beta and didnt had much fun cause of crashing, strangely today i had zero crashes....

Dont forget BF3 is on the heavy side of the price at $60.00 but it still comes with 14 maps....Although I'm debating on getting the game cause I never tried the big maps etc etc etc...got in Caspian border twice and was all crashes....but then I had the beta 11.10 driver with much more FPS boost but apparently lots of crashes I guess since now with 11.9 drivers i get zero crashes.

I'm offended that the two games are even being compared. It's like a performance enthusiast comparing a Porsche 911 to a Ford F-150.

You guys know which is which.

I will own both in a few weeks, I will play them both equally. There is no need to fight over what is better, two different genres. That is like saying what is better, The Who, or Beethoven. We can all agree both The Who and Beethoven are among the best in their respected genres, but you can't compare them against one another.

I have no doubt that BF3 isnt a bad game, but the intrusion on privacy, the utter lack of a server browser for PC, as well as EA's long running past of not giving heads or tails about their fans or anyone really... its too large a price for me personally.

Besides, BF3 beta plays like if RO and COD franchises had a baby.

I don't see why people have to compare them all the time, there's room for both on your HD is there not? and the people who side with RO2 in such comparisons really ought to be the ones not comparing them because RO2 can never hope to stand up against BF3.

I actually enjoyed BF3...it doesnt what it sets out to do rather well; which is being a lighthearted, casual, arcade shooter.

Which is more than i can say about RO2, who appears to have an identity crisis it doesnt know who it wants to appeal to; casuals or realism fans.

Granted Metro sucks, but Caspian border was a ton of fun.

will i buy it? f*** that lol! its worth $40 at the most.

I'll snatch it up during a sale

What's wrong with comparing 2 shooters? Some of us don't have the time or money to play and purchase both games.

Just because games are different, doesn't mean we can't decided which is the better buy. It's as though you believe everyone has the means to purchase every hyped up game this year.

Please dont tell about polish - RO is still in too bugged and has tonns of exploits and glitches for cheaters. Also it has very poor options for competetive support ( no 1st person demo is n1 !!!). What bloom are you talking about ? In BF3 it could be completely toggled off same as in RO

Not at all, RO2, and BF3 are the only games I will have bought this year(I did rebuy Fallout 3 and NV but I got a very good deal on it), so I am talking from someone who doesn't have money to constantly blow on games.

I don't think the games should be compared with each other. But however you should compare the genre... what genre do you like better, Realistic FPS, or Action/ Arcade FPS. Then compare the games to other games in that genre. if you decided on A/A FPS then what other games are out there or going to be out there to choose from, lots. Same with Realistic FPS(though fewer titles). I will go back to my previous metaphor, don't compare The Who to Beethoven, compare The Who to the Beetles...The Who wins.
