hmmm, something is strange here..don't real game developers test with betas BEFORE they release a game?

I must have overseen here something...

I accidently liked your post, forgive me...

The last time I tested the RO beta was a little under a year ago.
A sound issue concerning Mac/PC compatability.

So, not so strange...

Better to have an extra 'post-release beta' than everyone complaining that the patch doesn't fix it all instantly and so on.

I would love to join in, but my RO2 beta isn't in my library and I removed it from my comp on launch:(

I'm on board for this testing. That is, if the game allows me to play and not just lag/glitch out all over the place, like it has been doing recently.

Yes - and real game developers also test major PATCHES with betas BEFORE they release the patches.

To Add something constructive. I don't have the beta in my list, only RO2 and RO1. If RO1 would ninja infiltrate RO2 and add more sway that would be cool.

Oh god! How much are we going to wait for this damn patch? It's been a week since you announced you'll fix thoes problems.

Hope you'll release it THIS week.

They're fairly quick with patches, They only stated 3 days ago that their main focus this week is "stats, sound loss, performance and crashes." so I'd say this is well fast enough.

Hopefully someone figures out how to get the beta launched and updated so we can try out these fixes when the servers go up for them :D

Had no problem at all starting my BETA version.

However, I don't see any test servers and I don't know if that is because there are none there yet or it is the server browser bug that I get that doesn't show them

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw Yoshiro's note on the Steam page. Server isn't up yet.

Moe-does your copy of the RO2 Beta still show up in your Steam Library?

The beta does not show up in my list but the RO2 beta is still in my Steam apps folder.
I have tried starting from the binaries/win exe. but it tells me I need Steam installed, when in fact Steam is running.

What we probably need is a Steam short-cut with the correct start app: 1206262 or whatever.

Anyone ???

so what you guys are saying is that TW have released a beta patch for the demo version that noone can play?

heres a radical idea. why not just release the patch as a BETA patch so that everyone can test it?

i can think of a fair few other games that follow this approach. cliffs of dover and ARMA2 spring to mind.

I'd assume because then everyone would erupt in anger and disbelief should the patch not work flawlessly from the start. As others have stated, it is a common practice in the industry to beta test major patches prior to full circulation.

This, essentially what I said in my former post.
Then it will be fixed for half the people and people will scream with anger and another (if there is one) reset is needed. If it is fixed in the beta for only half of the people, they can work on it and fix it for all the people.

Then they release the awesome 'fixed for all' version

The most important question:

Will be a global stats reset?

Or you guys found a way to get it fixed with the real stats gain for each player?
