Beta on 23rd of August theory.

Today, in TB's video, he said this about the "beeta": "I know there's a lot of people who want to know when the beeta (sic) starts for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, the answer is you either already have it or very soon, depending on when this goes live."
The video was probably recorded today.

Gamescom 2011 video was not recorded today, as the last day of Gamescom was Sunday.
Just a quick post to thank you all for an entertaining couple of days. This has been my favourite forum thread since the Portal 2 thread on the Steam forums where everyone convinced themselves that the game was about to be released.
Seeing people convince themselves of something and then get annoyed that it didn't happen is, I hope some of you will agree having taken a step back from the discussion, a welcome source of comedy.

being the 2nd time they updated today, why would updating a 3rd time be improbable?
Because multimillion dollar industry giant such as steam would lag a little bit because RO2 beta is be prepared.
True, but it'll be lagging big time with the other new releases coming out tomorrow.
actually, its possible, steam servers are very unstable and they crash all the time, specially when some very anticipated game comes out (i remember it happened when l4d2 came out)

why is this a demo now? we are here to help the game now you are not releasing something we paid for simply because you think people will think its a demo of the full game? it is simply marked beta I find this as false advertising we paid $10 extra to have something that will be released probably the day before the 13th
Delaying the beta in order to avoid lower sale rates, wow that is some dumbass logic right there.
Further they push the beta the less they gain valuable feedback which makes the final product more buggy and crap, and yes there will be a sh*tton of bugs at release. It will also affect on reviews which are the most crucial in gaining customers.
Point is, if they release the beta now they will lose less money than if they keep pushing it back.

It's still a beta. Look at BF3, you get the beta two days before the release. Do they have to call it a demo as well?
