A few things :)

First- love the game. Truly. Had the pleasure of playing with some of the TW team, which was great.

Anyway... I've heard some of these things echoed on the site, as well as in game. Please understand these are just some thoughts and opinions, and that I'm not trying to shove any of this at anyone. My thanks and best regards to the TWI team!

-Not major, but wondering if there is another way you can show that a player is dead rather than tacking on "(dead)" after their name. Can their name just turn red, or can you just put their name in [brackets] or.. something. Difficult (eyesore?) already if their name is long and they're a squad leader, have a fire team tag, or are the commander.

-Similarly, hard to find ourselves on the player list. Could our character name always be highlighted a color that isn't being used for anything else?

-The position arrow that represents your player character on the map (the big map) is too similar to the map color. It doesn't stand out well, and, although I know you can reference the coordinate listed on the minimap, I personally feel like this would help me get my bearings on the map easier (maybe I shouldn't be able to?).

-We die wayyyyyy to quickly when we enter a restricted area. It may be two or three seconds tops (ie: not nearly enough time to get out if you're sprinting). The bridge area on Apartments (if you're Axis) is one of the only areas that warns you and gives you time to get out. Every where else it's "protected area" and then dead. One particularly frustrating example is on GrainElevator, where on FF mode you can't climb the ladders on the sides of the biggest building. It would at least be helpful if there was a boundary shown on the map... something.

-The auto-team switching is frustrating. I get why it happens, and I know it doesn't make sense to swap someone who is performing poorly, but... argh. I hate to say it, but if you ARE going to swap good players, I wonder if you should prevent them from switching back immediately (which I always do, without fail or with very little wait time). Is this arbitrary or is there some deliberateness to who it picks? I feel like, at the very least, it should not swap squad leaders or commanders.

-*PLEASE* make it so that if we're typing and hit the escape key, that it cancels our typing. Maybe others don't care about this, but it's messed me up numerous times. I'm typing, then spawn, or hear an enemy close by, and have to either hit enter (obviously easy, but odd if mid-comment) or backspace my whole comment and then hit enter. Feels like hitting escape to cancel the typing all together would make sense.

-The menu system (frankly for the whole game) doesn't feel very nice (apologies for the bluntness here, but next to the rest of the game, the during and post match interface feels... off). Main menu and server browser are okay, but the map selection vote screen is frustrating and lasts way too shortly. It's very difficult to vote for maps as is. Also, it would be nice if we could click the map to select our spawn location instead of only having to pick from the list. [An aside here: I assume/hope we'll be able to sort by categories (map/ping/etc) in server browser soon?]

-I know this happens a lot. We die, we go to the class selection screen, and we change something. OOPS, we've already spawned. Suicide time! Any way there can be some kind of indicator that you've spawned if you're in a menu (or any time, if it's easier to make it universal)?

-Similar to the last, sometimes if people try to change class, then change back to their current class, it says that the (current) role is taken. BUT, it's not, or not exactly. It's taken by YOU when you switch back, but because you're trying to swap back into it, and it tells you that it's taken, you chose another class when you could have just hit escape to stay in the class you had before you tried any of this mess. Class selection can be confusing in some scenarios, is mostly what I'm getting at here. Just suggesting something so that it might be more universally clear.

-I got on an empty server with some friends... it seems like MP40's shoot through concrete walls, even the thicker corner or entrance columns, and even from good distance (rifles penetrated pretty much everything we tried them against that seemed obvious, and even some that we doubted). Pistols penetrate thinner indoor walls but not brick/concrete thicker walls. Just wanted to make sure it was kosher that the sub-machine guns should penetrate concrete. One of the brick walls we tried it didn't penetrate.

I'll stop here. Just food for thought! Thanks again.

This seems as good a thread as any to attach my thoughts.

First, this is a wonderful game and I'm enjoying it very much. I hope it becomes massively popular.

Minor gripes...

1. I would like to be able to remove the bayonet from my rifle. It gives me away around corners.

2. The voice acting is wonderful, must it be in English? It would be very nice if it could be in German or Russian respectively.

3. I'd like to be able to turn off in-game voice chat. Or at the very least turn it down. It might be anti-social of me, but I'm often playing while talking with friends on steam or vent, and its difficult to understand them while other people are speaking.

4. It would be nice if the game could play a little more nicely with Alt+Tab.

My 2 cents. Thanks for the great game!

I totally agree with this point! That gold colored sh*t is very hardly noticable on the map screen. In RO:OST the red arrow was much better.
In RO2 I almost never use the map because of this. Lot of secunds to spot where am I. :)
I did a little poll in our hungarian RO2 community forum and everybody hate the color of the "you are here" indicator.
Also hate that there aren't any target label on the map, only A,B,C,D points. I like to memorize the names of the targets on every map, but its very hard to do if I always see letters intead of it. It's now like CS, "plant bomb A, B", you know.
Dear Tripwire we want back the red indicator to the map screen and the target labels of course please! :)

Thanks!
