Want to practice parrying Scrakes and FPs without having to fight through several waves all the time and then getting my *** handed to me before getting chance to learn the mob animations. I've seen mention of test maps but a Google search hasn't given me any meaningful results. Is there anything on these forums I can use?

Thanks in advance!

Console commands. Do a solo game, enable cheats, demigod, imrich (haven't used), spawnzed clot (to stop wave from ending), (then kill everything but your clot), opentrader, spawnai scrake

I don't know of a testmap but maybe check the workshop. Parrying on a server requires way different timing then on a local game and screwing up because of lag pretty much means death. You'd probably be better off running past their shoulder and/or circling them.

My honest opinion for being adept at parrying in this game, assuming conditions aren't laggy?

Play some dark souls.

Seriously! I may be laughed at but I got the hang of it pretty damn quickly, coming from parrying in that where the animations are important and enemies even try to fake you out.

If you need to stay in kf2 for this, then you want to spend time getting hurt by what you want to parry. Pay attention to the animation of the enemy and at what point it hurts you.

You also want to get timing down for the weapon you have in mind, the hammer raises and blocks slowly for example whereas the katana seems pretty quick with it. In a server with 50-60 ping? I'd say parry on the second half of their windup instead of their attack. This is all just me though, only bit that's not unique to me is spending time experimenting with it.

I think you missed the point of what OP is even asking for. He knows that he has to practice against the zeds to learn their animations. He's asking for advice on how, like a testmap.

Solo Offline

open console
enablecheats - this will enable cheats in game
demigod - hp will not go under 1
god - no dmg

Fight until 1 left then use:
spawnzed clot (or any zed name) to summon a zed with no AI so the wave will never end.

opentrader to open the trader or use :
allweapons - most of the rifles mainly
shotty - shotguns
berserk - zerker weapons
to get the weapons you need

allammo - full stock of ammo except you only get 2 nades
uberammo - infinite ammo

spawnai scrake - to spawn a scrake that has an AI and practice as much as you want.

healme ### - to recover hp in amount specified
armorme ### - to recover armor in amount specified

ghost - no clip mode
fly - fly mode
walk - disable the above and allow walking around on the map again.

spawnhumanpawn - to summon AI human players, generally spawn them off the map or in a safe spot so they don't get killed.
If one of the bots are dead or didn't spawn properly then use:
killbots - to remove all the bots and resummon them again.

setbind "key" "command" - to set a key to use one or more of the commands.
For example - setbind p enablecheats|god|healme 200|armorme 100|allweapons

I think this should help you setup your own test cases instead of using the testmap if you don't have it. I personally like the Helipad in Outpost right above where the drop is leading to the ATV's. Best of luck with practicing your parries.
