today i tried leveling low level perks, but the bars seem to go nowhere.i like derping around in doom2 final v7, and occasionally wander off into low pop servers, because because. i hate 6 men teamS. its just... ugh. i can survive and like survivng with me as medic/sharpie, and support. medic levels okay with this team. if im support/sharpie, it doesnt seem to go anywhere.i could kinda care less for all the other perks. :b
lvl 3.5 suppoert since last week,at least an hour on it eryday.lvl 5 for 2 days, working 2-5 hours a day on it.
basically, i just need maps for ss and support(about 10k welding left,i can gtind that).i dont like dark maps, eg bedlam, farm :L

You won't get much friendly response to this question, as most people on this forum frown at powerleveling.

If you're a level 6 and you never bothered to actually learn the game, you will be **** at the game. Trust us on that one.

The way I levelled was just by playing the game on public servers and with people from here. We all communicated in our games and we all learnt many things from each other. Levelling just happens amidst all this, it doesn't take long at all.

Actually, if you read the wiki page fr KF, they said that the DooMED(something something) map is great for beserkers, mainly because a chainsaw spawns. As for maps that make it easy to level, theres about 2 or 3 of them that are really nice if you have the fake player mutator. However, I stand with the other guys here, because power leveling just makes you unskillful in knowing how to play a certain perk.

In all honesty, most of your perk requirements can be done without even knowing about it, or trying. Heal others as much as you can, weld doors (as long as it doesn't interfere with things), use grenades, if you have an assault rifle, take out the stalkers, get headshots with pistols, and use knife to melee. If you keep that up, you'll have most requirements done. Once you get to level 3 for any of the perks, I would say play on Hard difficulty maps with people in it. It gives you experience, makes things fairly easy when it comes to money and difficulty, and its great to grind out those damage counters. Ill just write this little list thing here for ya:

  • For Medics, heal others before you heal yourself (unless your less than 20 health or if no one on the team is healing others)
  • For supports, weld doors. Either help weld them, or during trader time, weld and unweld
  • For demolitions, use your grenades whenever possible or needed, and that will help with your perk leveling
  • For beserkers, theres plenty of maps that favor the zerk, but for low levels, keep to open maps, and use your knife or any melee object to get kills or deal damage (I personally use katana as medic, so I heal and deal melee damage)
  • For sharpshooters, whenever you use a pistol or rifle, aim for the head. Headshots are easy to do, especially for the first few rounds.
  • For firebugs, if your able to afford a flamethrower, then get it in the earl waves. If you need help training and minor leveling, then get kf-walkwaybeta5. It has a flamethrower that spawns on the ground and is useful in knowing how to kite zeds as a firebug
  • For commandos, if you have room for an assault rifle, then carry it and use it for whenever you see a stalker. Playing solo is great, because the stalkers, are all for you, and not for greedy teammates.
Of course, shotgun and assault rifle damage are things that just come in time, but if you able to do over half of the things I listed, then you will easily get your perks leveled up, or on the edge of leveling up. Oh, and for shotgun damage, I prefer to solo on tight maps like biotics lab. Just wield the doors around you, and have them came right at you. Its great for learning how to aim when it comes to getting max penetration damage.

I am a good player, and the only 2 perks I have powerlevel'd was medic and sharp. I only did that at the last half of level 5 (just to have it done, and move on).

Medic is ez. Get a support buddy with a flamethrower to hurt himself during safe parts of a wave (I do this to other lowbie medics, but make them 'protect me' while I burn).

Sharp is.. well... a level 3 zerker cannot be harmed by clots or bloats on beginner. Find a hole-in-a-wall and plink away.

Power-leveling == noob ;)

Welding, easy, fire up solo Beginner West London, go to church, weld and unweld door in between waves. That's 10 trader times to get 10k, should be easy as a support. If you cannot get to wave 11 on your own on Beginner, then you really should learn too.

Sharp shooter leveling has to be the easiest, you should be able to do this in normal game play with your 9mm. Don't spam dual pistols like a noob, take your time aim for the head and decap those clots. No need to rush. If you really want to power level (hate the term), then install fake players, set it to 5-10, learn to kite. West London again, really easy, one big square to walk around. Only use your 9mm, except maybe the scrakes, use a LAR. Learn how to kill a FP with just your 9mm, shoot in the head and break line of sight lots, so it doesn't rage. You can level sharp with any weapon, just by getting headshots, which you should be doing anyway.

Easiest map to learn how to kite is the custom, DeathSandsBasin, set it to suicidal with faked players again for a proper challenge. Run away from clots and leave them alive, kill everything else, especially gorefast and crawlers first. You should be able to get to the start of wave 7 without a problem with any perk. Don't be a wuss setting it to less than suicidal otherwise you'll just end up being a perk level 6 who still cannot play. Firebug with a mac-10 on semi-auto is good on this map too.

If you're going to grind your perks, at least learn a useful skill at the same time.

Why rush? Optimize on completing maps rather than getting perk level 6. The side effect is the perks you use you'll level up. Try and be efficient in what you do. I think sometimes it's what you don't do which is more important.

The only bit of perk leveling I don't like is the welding for the support, since it encourages people to weld everything in sight. Everything else you can just play the game normally.

Curious, have you completed all the maps on Normal, then Hard etc?

Messing around on http://sykosis.co.uk/kfmwhitelist/48/kf-deathbasinsands on suicidal is so good for you play. Gives you the room to mess up and learn.

The thing with KF is that the difficulty of the game is very varied across each setting. If you are level 1 and finding a difficulty too easy, move up to the next difficulty. Playing level 1 on Hard is pretty tough, cause you have little money to work with, and you have very low damage compared to other players in the game.

If you can't enjoy the game enough to get to max level without powerlevelling, then you won't enjoy the game enough when you get there either.

To answer the original posters question:

Best maps to power level:
Berzerker /Sharpshooter: Mountain Pass= open spaces for kiting and head shots
Demo/firebug/Support: Biotics Lab= multiple controllable choke points for easy mass damage.

Commando: Biotics Lab or Offices. Any map with a crawler spawn. Stalkers spawn in theses spots.

As someone who power leveled (to regain lost power) I would highly recommend grinding to only level 4 in each perk. Then play the game normally using the perk you want. At level 4 you have enough advantages to tackle up to hard without feeling useless.

I dont think that was really called for. As for the OP, if you really need maps for leveling up any perk, besides support's welding, I would go with mountionpass or farmDay (its the map farm, but its daylight. its a whitelisted custom map) because they are really open and easy to kite everything. As for a place to weld, honestly, theres plenty of place, just kill everything but a couple crwalers or whatever, and just have your mouse pressed down as you weld it. My favorite map to power level my perks, was LightHouse. If you look around it, you will find spots that are easy to hold up, however, the one major draw back, is that the one spot that is perfect to hold up at, doesnt spawn any ammo or weapons at all, so make sure your prepared.

And like master said, you really should only powerlevel to either level 3 or 4. I was able to PL my commando, firebug, and support to level three, so now I just grind on servers with Hard difficulty.

All you need is to play on suicidal or hell on earth with a couple friends that will let you kill most of the stuff. Maps with easy choke points like biotics or biohazard are perfect for that.

i dont see EVERYONE typing 100% correctly.
doesnt matter as long as you can read it right?
typing with 100% correct spelling and grammar isnt as native as typing with known slang from my expieriences
You forget that a considerable portion of the community aren't native english speakers. So not only does it look idiotic, but it's a complete barrier to understanding for a good part of the playerbase.

if you absolutely, positively, must grind your perks, play on doom2final

however this will make you a god awful player when you play the real maps.
