I didnt know Afterburner had capture built in as i run it in the background to OC my gtx 9800 while playing RO2 ...i just delved into the options and hey presto.... there is capture options.

Unfortunately it wouldnt allow me to set the hotkeys for capture?? i dont know what is going on there??? there is no way i could set them i could see.

I used the Fraps fee version and that did not work with screens or video at all...it did measure the FPS though as it stated.

I just downloaded Wegame... i had it running in the BG but have not tried to use it yet... I just dont like the Browser thingiy it installs trying to sell games etc.. it is like having another version of steam on the PC...i dont want that.

If i can get After burner to work that would be sweet. All in one overclock and capture running simultaneously

My Afterburner keybinds work fine but test some other binds, great software for OC gpu too. Make sure you are using newest AB build because some older's cant record audio.

Is this thing a ****ing virus?! I restarted the PC, to see if that would kick it into shape, but with it running I couldn't move my Skype window around, then it started making multiple Skype windows appear. Turned it off, Skype back to normal. Turned it back on, Skype went batcrap again. God only knows what the alpha/virus piece of crap is doing. AVOID!

 It definitely is not a virus.

You have to have a legit PC to run it well, I can capture full screen at 50 or 60 fps and still maintain 60 fps in game. It's amazing

I guess my rig is pretty 'legit' (you mean spec I take it :) ), 2500 @4.5ghz, GTX580, 8Gb RAM at 1600mhz and an SSD HD. I just gave FRAPS a quick go and while it was recording my FPS went from 60 to 30 and the game became choppy. I'll put the FRAPS folder onto a different drive and test it like that. I guess setting a seperate core for FRAPS might help too but as I never have a need for footage I'm not that bothered, it's just that if it didn't lag the game out AND the file-size of footage wasn't insane (425Mb for the 30 seconds I just recorded, at 29fps and half size) I'd probably use it just for fun/interest.

Edit: Setting it to a different drive made no difference. The footage is smooth though, as smooth as the game is when it's running at 60fps.

Bought Fraps some years ago for BF2(i think it was), well worth the money!
I play from SSD(C:/) and the recordings are saved on D:/
Half-size 60 fps, no lagg(i play on highest settings on all games).

Ah...I wonder...brb.

Edit: Set FRAPS to run at 60fps, in-game it dropped from 60fps to 45fps when I hit the record button and was smooth. Odd that. :D

778Mb for 27 seconds of footage though.

If you have more than one HD the game isn't on I highly recommend Dxtory.

dxtory doesn't even work on rising storm. I'm running 2.0.122 and it simply doesn't display the osd at all...

I may need to revert to msi afterburner...

I'm on nvidia 320.18s win7 x64

MSI Afterburner's video capture is even better than when this thread was made since it now supports VFW codecs. Got it set up with Lagarith Lossless recording at 1280x720 and 8 compression threads. Don't see a reason to use Dxtory any more.

Aside from that, it's still a really useful program with its custom fan profile and on screen display.
