This isn't actually completely new. It was used in America's Army (obscureish F2P game developed by the US Military). TKing was a big deal - A lot of playtime could be wiped out by just one missed shot. As stated before, people who had let their 'honor' slip to 8 or below (you started at 10) had to play on training servers.

...Regardless, it is a very good way of dealing with TKers.

You have to be honest, though - remedial servers do sound pretty fun.

Yeah I wonder about this as well.
Cant tell you how many times, I've been auto booted for tk'ing because I was simply landing my mortars directly where the mortar observer placed his target, while my team happens to advance on what was the previous target.
Since I'm 400 yards away and behind a building...I had no idea.
I wonder how the software will distinguish between intentional and unintentional tk'ing.

Yea i always hate it when u place a perfectly good Arty strike to wipe out enemies and then u get some dick weeds running directly into it all only to get them selfs killed...

Im sure they have thought of all that though (i hope....*cough*betterhaveorelse*cough* :p:p)

I doubt there is a feature that distinguished accidental FF from obvious FF, if its the case than its probably working in the sense that several tks in a row kicks or demote you. I personally don't see how you could possible determine if its on purpose or not..

Best solution is simply admins, server settings and this new remedial servers thingy.

In the past, I always made sure I team texted (or over the mic) clearly explaining where I was targeting arty about 5-10 seconds before I actually did, then issued another warning that it is now coming.... then you hear the distance "pom pom pom.... pom" and down came the rain.

90% of the time that gives my team enough time to get out of the way or warn me they're in that area and to hold off, which I do.... and the other 10% of the time, some idiot decides to not pay attention and gets the smack down, leaving me with a TK.

Then I give them hell and ask them wtf they were thinking & tell them to pay attention next time.

though most times in that 10% they do say "oh my bad" and forgave the TK.

I like this idea of booting people to these servers loaded with their kind.... but the problem I can see is if you were trying to play right, but just sucked and mowed a few of your team mates down too often, once you're tossed into one of these servers and surrounded by trolls and clowns, I suspect it'd be pretty hard to get back out of those servers when you still have these people not working with you or continually shooting you.

I imagine it'd take a while to work back to getting a decent "Honor" level, but while on these servers, wouldn't it be twice as difficult?

RO2 has a a function available for players to forgive TK's. Even our bots forgive TK's in our current build ;-)

yay killing bots out of anger when they are being useless is fun :D:D:D

and yea Praxius makes a good point. Putting all the "rotten eggs" in one basket is a good idea but how is the reforming of an egg going to work exactly if they do decide to reform?

How gracious of the bots! :)

Does this mean a certain caste of player could in theory deplete their own reinforcements by aiming only at the unassuming and magnanimous friendly bots? Although I did always filter out servers with bots in ostfront, due to their somewhat... erratic behaviour in pretty much any given circumstance.

As has been said before a few tks will not destroy your rank. This system is not to punish peoples accidents.

That and being able to forgive I cant see a problem, unless you are really not careful with nades and arty all the time.

Most annoying teamkills are on maps like Leningrad or Gorlitz, where engineers need to blow up road blocks and tankers tend to have the feeling that those satchels are a kind of health pack to them.

Kaboooooooooooom!

I mean, I usually tell them that I will place a satchel, do so, shout "Achtung, da ist eine scharfe Bombe" (achtung, shambeh bambeh) and they even get the text message warning top left of their screen "satchel planted" or sth and still, some morons manage to get tkd.
If I got a penalty on that, being forced to play on specific servers, then I would be really pissed...

Wonder if the bot would forgive me for shooting him in the head at spawn and taking his weapon.
