Haha good of Odin to post Deus, cant seriously have that list without them! 'The Ideal Crash' is one of my all time favorite albums. And one of the best music vids ever;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaPbFI0AVw4
The last part where they walk/dance in the street is frikkin awesome :D

Dont forget Soulwax/2ManyDJs of the later years!
I also like some of Armand Van Heldens stuff.

And how is that 'jumpstyle' music any different than the hardcore/gabba from 15 years back or more? Maybe with more 'bouncey' to the bass but thats it.. Seriously, the dancing just looks retarded, like some weird folk/riverdance. How can you dance like that in a crowded club and not kick people in the nuts all the time?? :p Awww, guess the kids love it... (yea im old)

The Melbourne Shuffle, now thats a *cool* dance!

Oh, Technotronic FTW by the way! :D

i must admit that i as belgian had never heard of Deus before today lol,

jumpstyle is awesome, its a hype already and everybody dances on it in the clubs. but a friend of mine thought me about it like 5 years ago, and we looked like complete retards dancing like that at parties, but now everybody does it. it's diffrent from the hardcore gabba thing, the beats per minute are lower, so you can dance on it for longer times without having to take drugs like the hardcore.
and in the hardcore "hakken" you mostly move yer legs, with jumpstyle you have to move your whole body in order to stay in balance. it looks like they are doing complex moves that take thinkng, but once you get into it you just enjoy the feeling of floating on the beat!

I'm afraid that , to me, despite all the worthy bands mentioned in the lists above, Belgian music still = nosebleed techno.

Admittedly, last time I looked was about 10-15 years ago.

Heath roses?

Oh the poor dutch ... they have indeed spawned MUCH EVIL, like 2 Unlimited, Vengaboys and DJ Tiesto (the horror the horror!)
:p

In fact the only good Dutch acts I can think of right now would be Bettie Serveert and Urban Dance Squad.
And Cornelis Vreeswijk! :D

Heh, Vreeswijk. I think only the Swedes know who he is, the Dutch will have a hard time recognising that name =).

-Edit-
Jumpstyle awesome? Please go have a lobotomy or start listening to equally interesting music like Kabouter Plop and K3 :p.
Brel's a rather excellent singer, indeed.

ah you guys get back to your retirement homes with your heideroosjes, the dutch invented "hakken", so that takes all their rights away to criticise other musec genres for the next 200 years!!

and plop and K3 is a secret belgian plan to lobotomise the netherlands, they are always on tour in holland. just like you tried to do with us belgians by sending marco borsato, and bart smit!! :D

Isn't jumpstyle music only 12 year olds and idiots listen to?
The music sucks, it rapes good songs by adding meaningless beats to it and the dance looks like you're skating in the air like a retard with epilepsy.
I hate it btw.

And I do believe Jumpstyle was created in Holland, like hakken.

nope its defenately belgian, flemish more precisely.

give us a break, on what music can young people dance otherwise? do like all the morons at parties and jump up and down hands in the air, or not dance at all??

but i forgive you ignorantzz peapel, beecause you don't knaw whut you are doowing! :p
