Okay, so to start things off, I'm just a bit shy of level 5 berserker. That said, I feel I can hold my own pretty much with the class. I've learned that Crawlers are the bane of my existence, and how to kite and survive. Anyway, I've started to dedicate myself more to the role so that I can get my first level 6 perk.

My loadout is usually Lar/Katana/Axe, or Katana/Claymore/.44 mag. I've been favoring the traditional Lar build, but I've come into a bit of a problem. The Christmas Scrake..Yes, I know I can primary fire his face off with the katana and win, but I also know that I'm supposed to be able to stun him with the axe's secondary fire. The problem is, I can't find his bloody head?! I swing, he keeps walking, swing, swing, swing, I've tried aiming just to the left, to the right, and I still can't find it. Maybe it's just the Christmas model, but I'm pretty sure I've seen bersekers stun even that thing before.

That's problem one, problem two is the Fleshpound. With the Claymore, I can kite that sucker pretty easily. The range is nice on it and I just weave in and out. The axe? I'm not so good with. Seems like I just move way too slow and can only dodge half the hits he throws out. Not to mention, I hit him, back out, move in so he swings, back out, then hit again, but doing this sometimes causes him to rage even after he's taken a swing at me. What gives? I know he rages if you stay in his los for too long without him hitting, and if he takes too much damage, but he does it even after he's just swung most times.

Oh, and..the Patriarch :D I want to try being able to kill him with my katana, seen it done, but I just can't do it. That dildo thing on his chest just rapes me, can't seem to dodge him at all!

So, help me be a better berserker!

Note: All these things are tested on the testmap 6 man HoE, but I've tried lower difficulties just to see if it's just the setting and it's not.

aim at the specimen's neck/throat instead of whole neck. for scrakes aim a bit to the left, which is right of their head.

I suggest giving a try to M79/Claymore/Katana, a proper M79 blast would wipe a large crowd of crawlers before they reach you, can weaken sirens to a degree and mostly wipe anything short of a gorefast. Remove, Claymore and take Axe+magnum if you wish.

As for Patriarch's dildough, just watch some videos and take practice.

As far as the fleshpound goes, are we talking solo-play or with the whole of your team alive? It's always possible that there's a teammate shooting the fp while you're attempting to kite it, in an effort to "help out."

Why it's always the Berserkers carry other weapons that are not his own Perk??, fags!!!!, "Carry only weapons of your Perk".

I am a genuine Berserker and only carry weapons of the "Berserker", it is good that we have to suffer with the Crawlers "is part of the game"!!!!!!!, and a excellent Berserker can handle this situation very well with their own weapons.

Beginners Berserkers!!!!, why a LAR???????, why a M79???, why a Crossbrow????. why a 9mm Pistol????, why a grenade?????,.... you are a BERSERKER!!!!!!!!!!!.
How old are you?

Haha, well then..Update: I found the sweet spot on the Christmas Scrake, so that's all and well when I head into Suicidal/HoE. I think my fleshpound problem was that I was just putting too much damage into him. So, I think that's pretty much solved too. Not really, the tendency of the people in public matches to unload on scrake/fp and just rage him for absolutely no reason is still a problem, but I can't do much about that : D Either way, I hit level 5 and only 1.5 mil to go until 6!

As for the guy above, I can handle crawlers with my katana/axe, I just don't feel like taking unnecessary damage? It's much faster to switch to my LAR/pistol/m79 and blow the little buggers away. Same goes for sirens, I'm not charging in there to get my health eaten away by her amazing yodeling skills. It seems silly and more work for the medic (if I there is one >.<)

So yeah, I'm good now! Maybe I'll step into some Suicidal/HoE games soon and test myself.

You mean my age??... 23.

I believe he's referring to your mental age...

Regarding the scrake, i think his Jack frost head is way off from its collision box. I cannot for the life of me hit it when he's stunned in upright position. I can hit him when he's bend over but not when standing up, both with melee and ranged attacks

you are a BERSERKER!!!!!!!!!!!.
Mmmm, I'm not, it's my lowest level perk. I'm barely a level one, compared with all my 4-6 perks. I accidentally ended up this perk the other day when I joined mid way through a game. Kind donations from others I was able to get a Katana, but I completely suck at it.

So I'd be quite interested to read tactics and methods from people who are experienced with the class and enjoy playing it. Now only carrying class weapons for the berserker, interesting, why carry and axe and katana? Where would you use each of them. Would you ever carry 3 malee weapons? What about chainsaw tactics, use of alt fire?

The LAR is a useful off perk weapon for most classes, cheap, accurate, and always costs then same on perk. Why not have it when it can fit in with an axe and katana?

What about attacking the Patriarch as a berserker? Which weapon? How do you dance to avoid his attacks.

given the fact that you are playing on test map alone and you are sure that he did try to hit you in the last 8-10 seconds, the only possible option left is that you hit him too fast in a row.
you have to wait 2 seconds.

try to be a bit slower between hits and this problem should be solved.

how to kite the patriarch is kinda interesting for me too.
i only know that you can interrupt his range attacks by melee hitting him, no matter what weapon or perk you have.

Katana is an excellent anti-trash weapon, and up to two (I think) alt-fire headshots will kill anything below Scrake. The Axe has a powerful swing, and in certain situations and at certain levels you can stun a Scrake.

Stunning is different from the flinchlock you probably see on hard and under games, where a Berserker keeps hitting the Scrake with the katana without it hitting back. The problem with this tactic is that it does not work on Suicidal or HoE (Scakes can only flinch once), and if an idiot teammate shoots the Scrake it'll break its flinch and start sawing you. When you stun with axe (or claymore) the Scrake will stop moving and will not move again until his stun animation is over. It gives you and your team some free hits on him.

I rarely use chainsaw, and I think most Berserkers ignore it, too.

What about attacking the Patriarch as a berserker? Which weapon? How do you dance to avoid his attacks.
Depends if I'm serious or messing around, what map it is, and how much I trust my team.

Sometimes I'll go with machete/dual handcannons/crossbow and play catch the sniper with Kevin. Sometimes I'll go katana or claymore and dual magnums and play chicken. Sometimes flamethrower and katana. One time I did AA12 and katana, and it was pretty fun.

Basically use the Berserker's speed to your advantage and keep out of his reach.

To get kevin as zerk with katana;

-Wait for him to arrive (ofc)

- Stay near him as he prepares to attack. If it's a long range attack, just alt fire headshot him. He'll switch to you.

- The goal here is to get as close as possible as he begins his cq attack. At the very second you see his animation begin, run to him to break his momentum and then jump backwards. You should successfully avoid his cq attacks this way.

After that, just drive his attention to you while your team ****s him up or kite him, endlessly stopping his attacks.

(Dont try this with claymore or axe as it will slow you down too much to avoid the attacks)

Thanks for these tips. Got to level 3 zerker in no time on hard with a good medic to keep me in check when I screw up. The alt-fire axe is damm useful, managed to stun the scrake a few times, usually from behind.

Fighting with Kevin is quite fun until mistiming the attack. Really insightful technique effectually disabling his attacks, allowing the team to lay some damage into him.

Attacking Fleshpounds are interesting after playing commando so much, although they seem more unpredictable.

On suicidal, you should really get the scrakes from behind.

Also, for fighting FP's, it's the same as kevin, really, block his momentum and quickly jump backwards.

Thanks for all the info guys! Chugging along through level 5 right now and I'm feelin' pretty good with it! I've kited fps, survived final waves for the save, and even managed to stun scrake frost with my axe! Now all that's really left is Kevin and I still haven't managed that to my liking. He just seems to catch me with a swing every time I dart in and out >.<

I didn't think that the older users behave like "little girls" insulting when you make a comment that they do not like.

Very well expert, what are the mechanics of the game???.

The mechanics of berzerker is that you aren't meant to simply stop your weapon usage on melee weapons.

Doing so would be a great error. An immediate proof is that if you do this, crawlers will eat you in less time than Painis Cupcake needs to say it.

So in the end, in order to be efficient as a berzerker, you need to know when to switch to your sidearm instead of letting the crawlers and the sirens chomp off 40 HP, leaving you defenseless to an eventual surprise buttsecks Gorefast strike.

Your "hint" was explicitly directed to begginer berzerkers. Well this is what I call negative influence, purely and simply. Begginer berzerkers do not have the extra oomph to survive a crawler herd or the dreaded siren funeral carol.

Using a sidearm is thus extremely useful and shouldn't be avoided.

The only situation in wich you should only focus on your primary blade is when you're camping some tiny place with a bunch of crowd controllers already taking care of the little ****. Which leaves you in another role where the zerk excels : taking care of big fishes.

But in the end, the zerk's true role is crowd control, thanks to his damage resistance and speed, he may avoid enough damage and deal some in the same proportions to take out the bulk of the horde and divert their attention so teammates may fulfill their role as intended.

So please stop trying to brainwash newcomers into segregating sidearms, please.

Also, if you weren't socially skilled to understand it, your way to write your messages is absolutely childish and at best laughable. Of course, we don't like your comment because of the reasons above. Now go get some literacy courses and come back when you hit "mental" puberty.

And please stop bolding parts of your sentences, we can decrypt your posts very well.
