I don't think you understand the point nath is trying to make, if bezerker runs into a lot of zombies why should people put so much effort into just protecting one person when the rest of the team is at risk of other zombies popping up from other spawn points.

It doesn't take 5 team members to shoot some crawlers and sirens...

The zerker can handle everything else.
Stop being difficult.

Wait a second way to contradict your self, you have been complaining that the bezerker isn't good enough even though it can handle every specimen except for sirens and crawlers?

I said stop that.
And yes, you still can handle specimens with the katana by breaking your mouse.
It's not quite possible with the chainsaw.
Now do I -just for you- have to spell out why that sucks or will you read one of the 3+ threads about that?

But you do not get it YOU-ARE-NOT supposed to be able to handle the bigger specimens on your own. That's why they configured the katana and chainsaw, before the new update I could kill scrakes and fleshpounds no trouble with a chainsaw and a katana and I didn't even use bezerker.

You WON'T break your mouse.
Use the chainsaw or something.
Just because its somewhat harder to stand upfront and melee everything, doesn't mean it sucks.
Just play it, or don't play it.

Okay, I hesitate to even get involved in this "debate" because I never play as Zerker and I'm not going to act like I do, but...I know that I can easily down a Scrake with one magazine from the SCAR and a FP with a mag and a half. M14 cracks off headshots like no other, and AA12 makes bigger specimens a joke. So if every class (save for maybe Firebug and Medic unless they buy one of the big bad weapons) can take the two biggest specimens, why shouldn't the Zerker?

Now it's just getting stupid.
In half of your examples, the single shot is optional and those are all ranged weapons.
And the chainsaw is weakened into unusability just in case you haven't noticed.
The 1 click 1 slash nerf just makes no sense as similar weapons like the knife function automatically.

Yes. It really requires teamwork for a Sharpshooter to 1-shot it. Or a Support to AA-12 hammer it into hamburger. Or a demoman to pipe bomb it out of existance. Or a Commando to SCAR it's face off. And all of them do so faster than a Berserker can cut one down. Yeah, tons of teamwork there, so that part of the argument is pointless...

A Zerker standing in front of a Scrake and hitting it is really standard procedure for killing one. It lets you block it from getting to allies, and allows your back and sides to be covered by allies behind you, using the Scrake as a "Shield" for your front... In fact, there's not much else you can do, aside from strafing around the Scrake like a moron to block teammates shots and dodge med-darts while you hack away...

The Scrake alone is the biggest thing that pisses me off about the Katana auto-swing removal. Now, instead of standing there, holding down the fire button until it dies, you have to stand there and mash the mouse buttons to get the same effect. It's stupid... And with everyone's ability to, as I said, kill Scrakes faster than you, someone will most likely kill it before you can... The only use for the Zerker's stun right now is to stun raged Scrakes that idiot demomen enrage with nade spam...and if you go Support, you can outright kill them instead of stunning. Me and my buddy worked out a "Stop and pop" routine with the stun, where one of us is a Zerker who stuns Scrakes and the other is a Sharpshooter who pops their skulls, but arguably, the Zerker isn't really needed even here if the Sharpshooter has skill enough to hit 'em...

Let me ask you this.........WHY THE **** SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SOLO THEM THEN?

Sharpshooter can solo everything without taking damage and no one complains about them.

I suggest that the berserker get some kind of specialized melee weapon that they can throw. idk..... seems to me that if your in the mood to hack and slash then you go beserk. if ur in the mood to blow **** up then go demo. and when u cant make it to the shooting range well..... then you can always pratice on some zeds.

I have no problem with that.
The fact that they can solo them with no damage easily.
If they removed the stun, there would be nothing to complain about and 'kiting' them would still be easy.

Of course you got no problem with 1 shotting a scrake as a SS but when those damn zerker noobs kill something that is yours then that is another story.

Play a zerker and kill a scrake when it is surrounded by mobs.
